About the job

At HUF we target young people aged 18-30 who have brain injury, intellectual disability and/or physical disabilities. We must ensure the transition from child to adult, we base ourselves on the young person’s own wishes and we use our professional expertise to pave the way for new interventions and follow up on ongoing ones. Could this be something for you?

We are currently looking for two social workers who want to help work targeted for our young citizens in the Municipality of Copenhagen.

About HUF

At HUF we have 18 dedicated caseworkers who work with a holistic case management approach for young citizens who have brain injury, intellectual disability and/or physical functional impairments.

We handle both new applications and follow up on existing interventions in close dialogue with the citizens and their networks.

We also have a social work coordinator, a student assistant and an administrative staff member in the team.

We focus on

  • providing professional and empathetic authority-based case management
  • ensuring citizens’ legal rights and involvement
  • ensuring a good transition from child to adult
  • systematically working with assessments via VUM and support under the Social Services Act §§ 82, 85, 97, 98, 100, 103, 104, 105, 107 and 108
  • broad collaboration with relatives, internal colleagues and external actors.

Responsibilities

We must ensure good and safe access to us for the citizens. You will therefore be a fixed case handler in the individual citizen’s cases in Ung HUF.

We work with holistic case management and coordination of interventions that support the citizens’ development and independence. We listen to the citizens and what each individual wishes for their life and seek solutions that meet this.

We provide advice and guidance to youths and relatives about offers in the Municipality of Copenhagen. When the youths apply for support, we use the adult assessment method (VUM) to clarify the young person’s support needs. We place emphasis on ensuring coordination with other support possibilities in other administrations.

Across the Youth Area in Your Social Entrance we have a strong focus on ensuring a good transition when youths move from childhood to adulthood at age 18. We therefore have close cooperation with Your Social Entrance – Children to ensure that youths receive the necessary and correct support when they turn 18 and move to the Youth Area.

Our ambition is to follow the indicative caseloads from the Danish Social Workers Association, corresponding to about 45 citizens per caseload.

Your primary tasks as a caseworker with us will be

  • to advise and guide citizens and their relatives
  • to conduct adult assessments and process applications and make decisions on support under the Social Services Act
  • to prepare the citizen’s plan in collaboration with the citizen and relevant actors, and follow up on existing interventions
  • assessment and evaluation of the citizen’s needs (including using VUM)
  • to coordinate the transition from child to adult
  • coordination of cross-cutting cooperation and referral to relevant offers
  • follow-up on approved interventions.

Professional approach

We will ensure that you are well equipped to be a fixed case handler, so you are able to clarify, investigate, make decisions and follow up according to the applicable law in the Social Services Act.

We value professional reflection and collaboration. Even if you have own competencies in certain areas of case management, you will receive sparring from professional coordinators, your colleagues and sometimes the house’s lawyers, so we ensure consistent and qualified decisions.

We value timeliness, legal basis and safeguarding the citizen’s rights. We keep up with new principal decisions and learn from our decisions when they are remanded by the Appeals Board.

About you

You want to make a difference for young citizens at HUF by clarifying the necessary help under the applicable Social Services Act.

We assume you are trained as a social worker, social mediator or have another relevant social science education.

It is advantageous to have experience with authority work and/or the target group, but not a requirement – we will ensure you are properly prepared for the task.

Our team is characterized by integrity and high professionalism: we work with trust and value professional sparring with each other, with room for diversity, and we regard professional development as an essential part of the job. We therefore hope you want to actively contribute to professional discussions and the social cohesion in the team.

Salary and employment

The positions are permanent and to be filled by 1 January 2027. You are employed full-time, with your working hours on weekdays during daytime with a flexitime agreement. Employment and pay terms according to the collective agreement for social workers, social mediators and/or HK collective agreement for administration and IT. We will obtain a criminal background check and references in connection with the hires. The workplace is Telehuset at Borups Allé 43, close to both the metro (Nuuks Plads), S-train (Fuglebakken Station) and easy to get to by bicycle.
