About the job

Are you passionate about helping vulnerable children, youths and their families? Are you clear, present, empathetic and structured? Then we can offer you a challenging and exciting job with us in Family Counseling.

A bit about us

The Family Counseling is organized under the School and Culture Administration and divided into 5 teams: Intake, Child Team (0-9 years), 2 Youth Teams (10-23 years) and Child Disability.

All teams are also supported by our secretariat.

Network involvement

We are focused on network involvement and thus also on network-inclusive methods, in particular family conferences. We are aware of the importance of systematic involvement throughout the case processing, which can contribute to nuance in the basis for decisions and facilitate a good dialogue and constructive collaboration between the families and the Family Counseling. As a child and youth advisor you can expect to hold many family conferences.

Intake

In Intake, all notifications in new cases are processed, after which a determination is made on the further course, including initiation of assessment and child welfare investigations. Intake also arranges supportive interventions pursuant to the Children's Act § 30, and initiates concurrent support pursuant to the Children's Act § 32. Intake handles acute cases.

Back end - Child Team and Youth Team

Common to the back end is that analyses/assessments and child welfare investigations are prepared, as well as decisions are made, followed up and concluded with supportive interventions. As part of the Child Team there is a small Little Children Team (Småbørnsteam), with a special focus on unborn and newborns. In the Youth Team a decision on youth support is also made.

Disability Team

In the Disability Team we work with children and youths with substantial and lasting physical or mental impairments, or intrusive chronic and long-term illness. As well as if the parents receive help based on the child’s or the youth's disability according to the Children's Act, chapter 8.

Our new colleague

  • is a trained social worker and has experience in handling child and youth cases in accordance with the Children's Act
  • has a holistic case-management perspective, is professionally creative and willing to think in alternative possibilities
  • has good collaboration skills and possesses natural assertiveness
  • can coordinate multidisciplinary efforts and focus on resources, network involvement and civil society
  • can work structured, systematic and autonomous in a busy everyday life
  • has good written and communicative skills, and preferably experience in leading meetings
  • is able to be humble regarding the citizen's situation
  • has a driver’s license and own car.

The Family Counseling is an attractive, modern and digital workplace. We work according to a principle of being flexible and paperless. This means that as an employee you are provided with a laptop and iPhone. After your training you have the possibility to work from home, if this is compatible with operations.

We work multidisciplinary and holistic. We emphasize that professionalism and well-being go hand in hand, so there will be ongoing training in social work methods, including family conferencing. We use ICS, Signs of Safety and DUBU. We always focus on possibilities rather than limitations.

The Family Counseling values a contributory culture with close guidance and sparring.

You will receive an introductory program, and we will ensure the necessary support during your start, including a mentoring program and ongoing case reviews with the professional manager. There is the possibility for ongoing case supervision.

Haderslev Municipality is a value-based organization. Our shared values are

Ambition – We are boldly innovative

Results – We are professional co-creators

Community – We are competent team players

Dialogue – We are open collaborative partners
