About the job

Would you like to help set the framework and guidelines for the IT landscape in the City of Copenhagen?

We are Denmark's largest workplace with the associated complexity in the IT area, including requirements for quality and security. We are seeking a Solution Architect for one of Denmark's largest IT system landscapes.

In Group IT we procure, develop and implement IT solutions for the benefit of the citizens of the City of Copenhagen. To undertake this task, we are looking for a Solution Architect with 0-5 years of experience who can translate and align the business's many needs with the municipality's technical requirements and standards.

About the position

As a Solution Architect with us you act as the link between the business and IT, so that the business's requirements are translated into the right technical solution. You will often participate as part of the early project phase dealing with analysis and design, and you therefore have a key role in ensuring the quality of our solutions. You will also work closely with our operations department, which maintains the operation of many of our systems, both on our on-premises servers and in our growing cloud environment. In the role of Solution Architect you will furthermore

  • develop architectural diagrams and other system documentation
  • advise the business on good and secure IT solutions
  • formulate non-functional requirements in connection with the procurement of IT systems
  • gain knowledge of the City of Copenhagen's broad and growing technology portfolio, which today counts more than a thousand IT systems of all kinds, from small innovative IoT devices over departmental systems and AI solutions to large platforms such as Office365 and Azure
  • have the opportunity to contribute to the development and documentation of the municipality's framework architecture, including building blocks, standards and principles, so they are easy to understand, reuse and apply across the organization
  • become part of a cross-disciplinary agile team, which makes it important that you are willing to work closely with colleagues from many different professional backgrounds
  • become part of our network for IT architects, where collaboration and professional sparring are highly valued.

Who are you?

You are ambitious and curious, have a strong interest in IT architecture and a desire to work with the relevant technical architecture and security approaches, and you understand new technologies. You have 0-5 years of relevant professional experience. You are good at collaborating with disciplines from both the business and operations, and you thrive in a team that shares knowledge and sparring in agile settings.

Your educational background could be e.g. a data technician, cand.IT or similar. You may currently be a developer, where you have gained knowledge of various technologies.

Who are we?

You will be employed in the Service Area Projects and Across-Systems, which is part of the City of Copenhagen's Group IT. You will become part of one of our three architecture teams depending on your qualifications – enterprise architecture, procurement, or analysis and solution architecture.

We are a spacious office with about 80 employees in 11 teams and a wide range of expertise and personalities. We primarily work within technical system management, project and delivery management, IT architecture and IT procurement. We ensure stable operation and maintenance of hundreds of systems and drive some of the biggest IT projects in Denmark.

We support the City of Copenhagen's citizens and employees with IT solutions that help them in their daily lives. We work with everything from property management to environment to health care.

Salary and employment terms

The position is full-time and compensation is according to union terms and qualifications. We offer flexible working conditions and hours, relevant continuing education, etc., and a salary that corresponds to your qualifications. We wish for you to start as soon as possible.
