About the job

Are you a clinical psychologist and would you like to help continue developing a specialized treatment offering for people with dual diagnosis? Then we are looking for you for a full-time position as of December 1, 2026.

About us

Regional Psychiatry Midt established in 2024 a new integrated treatment offer for people over 18 years old with moderate to severe mental illness and concurrent substance use disorder.

We are still in the process of implementing and developing the treatment offer and have already gathered a committed, interdisciplinary team consisting of nurses, a clinical psychologist, a social worker, a physiotherapist, a secretary and a psychiatrist.

The team covers the municipalities of Viborg, Skive and Silkeborg under the Psychiatric Department at Hospitalsenhed Midt and offers an integrated treatment offer tailored to the individual patient.

Assessment and treatment of mental disorders run in parallel with treatment of substance use issues. We also focus on somatic complications and actively work with harm reduction.

What makes our team unique is that the patient group often requires thinking about psychiatry, substance use issues, trauma, somatics, motivation and social functioning together. This is reflected in the way we work, which is thus interdisciplinary and holistic with a focus on both health- and social-professional interventions.

The treatment includes among other things

  • Pharmacological treatment (withdrawal, craving-reduction and substitution therapy)
  • Psychotherapeutic approaches (MI, CAT and DAT)
  • Physiotherapy offers
  • Eventually social skills training

We meet the patients where they are, and the work can therefore take place on several sites.

We aim to have close collaboration with the department's other clinics and inpatient wards and be available for sparring and guidance regarding dual-diagnosis issues.

Your role in the team

As a clinical psychologist with us, you will have a central role in the professional development of the psychological treatment in an integrated dual-diagnosis offering.

This includes, among other things, the following tasks

  • psychiatric assessment and differential diagnosis
  • psychological evaluation of complex patients
  • treatment planning
  • psychotherapeutic treatment
  • sparring with the team
  • development of psychology-focussed interventions for the target group
  • possibly internal teaching/supervision

We offer

  • A working environment characterized by high professionalism, mutual trust and openness, helpfulness and a good dose of humor.
  • We prioritize daily sparring, shared lunch and ongoing teaching.
  • You will become a central part of the continued development of the psychological content in the treatment offer
  • Opportunity to influence the development of a new treatment offer and work with a target group where your efforts make a clear difference.
  • We prioritize a thorough introduction, mentor system and ongoing competence development through both e-learning and courses, tailored to your experience and needs.
  • There are regular psychological professional group meetings across the department, and there is an opportunity for group testing supervision.
  • Occasionally people meet for informal socializing for psychologists and doctors together.

We imagine that you

  • Are a clinical psychologist
  • Have an interest in or experience with dual diagnoses and can work with complex psychiatric problems
  • Have experience working with substance use issues
  • Can work with trauma-informed care
  • Are trained in MI/CAT/DAT
  • Can work independently and take responsibility for patient pathways
  • Thrive in interdisciplinary collaboration

A driving license and your own car are required.
