Specialist in Endometriosis, Gynecology and Obstetrics, Aarhus University Hospital

A newly created full-time position as a consultant in Gynecology & Obstetrics at Aarhus University Hospital is available for occupancy on 1 March 2027 or as soon as possible. The position is attached to the endometriosis team, and applicants with competencies and particular interest in endometriosis are preferred.

The permanent medical staffing within endometriosis currently comprises four specialists, and the team handles assessment and treatment of endometriosis patients at a highly specialized level. The operative activity is carried out in a pelvic surgery center with close collaboration with highly specialized surgical gastroenterologists and urologists.

• applicants with a particular interest in endometriosis and ambitions to undertake expert training.

The department has a highly specialized function within severe or advanced endometriosis, including bowel endometriosis. The gynecological section is divided into the teams: gynecologic-oncological team, general gynecological team, endometriosis team and urogynecological team. Broad collaboration across the individual teams and with the obstetric section is expected where it makes sense in the patient pathway as well as in the on-call duties. Specialists participate in the gynecological back-up on-call.

The service is currently organized in a 2-shift operation with 12-hour shifts every day. The on-call timeline is staffed with a pre-ward from 7:45 AM to 5:15 PM on weekdays and 8:00 AM to 3:24 PM on weekends, a gynecological late shift on weekdays until 5:15 PM, an intermediate shift, and a gynecological and an obstetric specialist in back-up on-call. All have on-site presence on call.

The department has approximately 425 employees in total, of which about 73 are physicians. The department handles all tasks within the specialty with the exception of fertility.

Salary and terms of employment in accordance with the applicable collective agreement. Employment is conditional on a satisfactory child background check and a satisfactory authorization/licensing.

The applicant's qualifications will be assessed based on the 7 medical roles. The 7 medical roles are filled in connection with the application.

The position is, as a rule, a full-time position.
