Specialist in Surgery, Viborg Regional Hospital

Would you like to work with hernia surgery and help shape the development of hernia surgery in Viborg, including participation in robotic surgery? Then become our new Specialist in Surgery in HEM's hernia team.

We have a position available for occupancy as of March 1, 2027 (or by agreement).

Our hernia team handles diagnostics and treatment of all types of abdominal hernias, including larger ventral hernias. Currently 4 specialists are attached to the team.

We expect that you

Working hours/shifts

The on-call shift is a presence duty and is included in a 12-shift cycle where the day is split into 7:45 – 15:00 and 15:00 – 08:15.

There are ward rounds on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, covered by the department's specialists on a rotating basis.

The on-call covers the breast surgical area from 15:00 to 08:00 on weekdays and around the clock on weekends.

RHV is an acute hospital, and the department has two on-call sequences. Part on-call for the upper/acute area, and standby duty for colon surgery.

Salary and employment terms

Salary and employment terms are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement in the area. With reference to the Act on Child Certificates in connection with the employment of staff, a child certificate will be obtained in connection with any employment. The employment is with Region Midtjylland with service initially at Hospitalsenhed Midt, Surgery.
