About the job

Are you passionate about creating an overview, working strategically and contributing to development? Do you have political acumen and attention to detail? Are you able to reach out and collaborate across external and internal partners?

Then perhaps you are the one we are looking for as our new senior consultant in the City of Copenhagen's Social Administration.

Who are we?

The Center for Temporary and Independent Living Arrangements is one of six centers in the Social Administration. The center consists of four areas. In these four areas, there are a number of residential facilities, shelters and crisis centers, which cover citizens from the vulnerable area, disability area and social psychiatry.

Our core task is to support Copenhageners in mastering their everyday life and living a good and active life with as much independence as possible. The goal is that many citizens in the center may eventually live more independently, and here it is our task to ensure a good transition for the individual citizen, whether the citizen moves into their own home or on to another residential facility.

The many offerings are supported by a center team consisting of 22 consultants, who together support ensuring the professional quality of the offerings and support center management with strategy and development

We are looking for you who can create overview, strategy and coherence

It is a challenge to lead over 38 services for adults who need special support. And when we also must ensure high professional quality across the services, an overarching strategic direction and that the efforts at the services actually deliver quality for citizens, then it requires coordination, planning and structure. And this is where you come in.

You will play a central role in ensuring quality, coherence and progress both in fixed tasks and ongoing projects. In addition, you will have a fantastic workplace with meaning and a good collegial community.

You will collaborate with a wide range of professional fields, both locally at the residential facilities and in the center team, where there is always an opportunity to seek sparring.

Room to shape the tasks around you and your profile

Some tasks are fixed, but there is also an opportunity for you to help shape the position based on your competences and experiences. We are an organization open to new approaches, alternative ways of working with the target group or seeing new solutions in a politically driven reality. At the same time it is important to understand that we, as part of the Social Administration and the City of Copenhagen, are part of a large political organization.

You will therefore also need to work politically, strategically with many different partners. It is also important that you can operate in the political environment and relate to legal texts and political positions.

Your work tasks will include

  • strategic support for area managers
  • appeals responses and press inquiries (in collaboration with the press department)
  • construction projects in collaboration with central offices
  • sparring for the local management across the four areas
  • preparation of decision proposals in collaboration with e.g. area managers, Center for Professional Support and Development, Center for Economics etc.
  • focus on initiatives derived from the Dignity Reform e.g. Gadens Houses
  • planning and handling of processes e.g restructure of offerings and opening of residential facilities etc.

We imagine that you

  • have a relevant academic education, e.g. in social sciences, communication or similar
  • have experience from previous roles – preferably from a politically governed organization
  • have experience in developing and implementing concrete strategies
  • are structured and detail-oriented, but at the same time good at keeping an overview
  • have strong written communication skills and can tailor the communication to different target groups
  • have experience in facilitating processes, meetings and themed days
  • have knowledge of and/or interest in one or more of the following areas: homelessness/vulnerable population, crisis center area, disability area, social psychiatry
  • thrive in a role with many contact points and a varied task portfolio

We offer a professionally strong and engaged work environment, close collaboration with management, high ceilings and good mood, as well as opportunities to influence tasks and processes, as well as a workplace focused on development, collaboration and well-being.

Employment conditions

The position as senior consultant is anchored in our center team, which consists of 22 employees and a team leader. The team handles both professional and administrative support for the center management and our areas. The center team is based at Islands Brygge 37.

Working hours are 37 hours per week with the possibility of remote work. Expected start date is 1 January 2027 or as soon as possible. Salary and employment terms according to the applicable collective agreement for ACs and within the framework of local salary setting. In connection with the recruitment process we will obtain references and police certificate.
