About the job

Are you passionate about creating overview, working strategically and contributing to development? Do you have political acumen and attention to detail? Can you reach out and collaborate across external and internal partners?

Then you may be the one we are looking for as our new Senior Policy Consultant in the City of Copenhagen’s Social Services.

Who are we?

The Centre for Temporary and Independent Housing Arrangements is one of six centers in the Social Services. The centre consists of four areas. In these four areas there are a number of residential facilities, shelters and crisis centers, which host residents from the homeless/threshold area, the disability sector, and social psychiatry.

Our core task is to support Copenhageners in mastering their daily lives and living a good and active life with as much independence as possible. The goal is that many citizens in the centre can eventually live more independently, and here our task is to ensure a good transition for the individual citizen, whether the citizen moves into their own home or on to another residential facility.

The many offerings are supported by a centre team consisting of 22 consultants, who together support ensuring professional quality in the offerings and support the centre management with strategy and development

We are looking for you who can create overview, strategy and coherence

Managing more than 38 services for adults who need special support is no small feat. And when we also have to ensure a high professional quality across the services, an overarching strategic direction, and that the efforts at the services actually deliver quality for the citizens, it requires coordination, planning and structure. And this is where you come in.

You will play a central role in ensuring quality, coherence and progress both in ongoing tasks and on-going projects. In addition, you will get a fantastic workplace with meaning and a strong collegial community.

You will collaborate with a wide range of professional disciplines, both locally at the residential facilities and in the centre team, where there is always an opportunity to seek sparring.

Space to shape the tasks after you and your profile

Certain tasks are fixed, but there is also the possibility for you to help shape the position based on your competencies and experience. We are an organization with openness to new approaches, alternative ways of working with the target group or seeing new solutions in a politically governed environment.

At the same time, it is important to understand that we as part of the Social Services and the City of Copenhagen are part of a large, political organisation. Therefore you will also need to work politically and strategically with many different partners. It is therefore also important that you can operate in the political environment and relate to legal texts and political positions.

Your tasks will include

  • Strategic support for area managers
  • Complaint responses and press inquiries (in collaboration with the press department)
  • Construction projects in collaboration with central offices
  • Sparring for local management across the four areas
  • Preparation of decision proposals in collaboration with e.g. area managers, Center for Professional Support and Development, Center for Economics, etc.
  • Focus on initiatives derived from the Dignity Reform, e.g. Gadens Houses
  • Planning and handling of processes e.g. restructuring of offerings and opening of residential facilities etc.

We imagine that you

  • Have a relevant academic education, e.g. in social sciences, communication or similar
  • Have experience from previous roles – preferably from a politically governed organization
  • Have experience in developing and implementing concrete strategies
  • Are structured and detail-oriented, but at the same time good at maintaining overview
  • Have strong written communication skills and can adapt the messaging to different audiences
  • Have experience facilitating processes, meetings and thematic days
  • Have knowledge of and/or interest in one or more of the following areas: homelessness/target group, crisis center area, disability area, social psychiatry
  • Thrive in a role with many contact points and a varied task portfolio

We offer a professionally strong and committed work environment, close collaboration with management, open ceilings and good spirit, as well as the opportunity to influence tasks and processes and a workplace with a focus on development, collaboration and well-being.

Employment conditions

The position as senior policy consultant is anchored in our centre team, which consists of 22 employees and a team leader. The team provides both professional and administrative support to the centre management and our areas. The centre team is based at Islands Brygge 37.

The working hours are 37 hours per week with the possibility of remote work. Expected start date is 1 January 2027 or as soon as possible. Salary and employment terms in accordance with current agreement for AC employees and within the framework of local pay formation. In connection with the recruitment process we will obtain references and a criminal record check.
