About the job

Center for Families, Youth & Early Intervention, Youth

Prevention starts long before something goes wrong

SSP collaboration is about preventing crime and risk behaviors among children and young people. But for us, prevention also includes what comes before. If this is also how you view SSP work, perhaps you are the person we are looking for in our SSP team in Lejre Municipality.

As an SSP consultant you work both broadly preventive and with concrete concerns regarding individual youths and groups of youths. You must be present where the youths spend time, build relationships and translate your observations into action.

You collaborate with schools, clubs, associations, parents, the police and colleagues across the children and youth sector. Together we shall create pathways into positive communities and develop new activities and preventive initiatives when the need arises.

From the conversation with the young person to a filled parent meeting

SSP work requires that you can move between different arenas. You must be able to establish natural contact with youths and at the same time be comfortable conveying knowledge to school classes, professional staff and larger assemblies.

It may involve youth life, substances, crime, digital communities or current trends among children and youths. You must be able to communicate professional knowledge in a vivid, credible and relatable manner to the target group.

You will, among other things

  • Be visible and accessible in the environments where children and youths spend time
  • Establish contact with youths and groups – also those on the fringes of communities
  • Identify and respond to worrying trends and risk behaviors
  • Support youths’ participation in positive activities and communities
  • Collaborate with schools, clubs, police, parents, associations and municipal areas of expertise
  • Plan and conduct presentations, teaching and dialogue processes for students, parents and professional staff
  • Contribute with guidance, sparring and professional knowledge
  • Identify new needs and develop SSP-relevant projects and preventive initiatives
  • Document the work and translate knowledge about developments in the youth area into action

You will become part of something bigger

SSP is part of our new Center for Families, Youth and Early Intervention, where we have gathered several professional areas to create stronger coherence in the efforts around children, youths and families.

SSP is located in the Youth Department together with the authority area for youths over 15 years, the Educational Guidance service and Youth & Employment.

It provides good opportunities for cross-disciplinary collaboration. For a young person, an SSP case is rarely just an SSP case, a school case or an employment case. Life is interconnected – and our interventions must reflect that as well.

Who are you?

Your educational background can be pedagogical, social-work oriented or another relevant education. The most important is that you have experience with children and youths and can translate your professional knowledge into practice.

We attach importance to that you

  • Are strong in relationship work and can connect with different youths
  • Have a view for both the individual youth, group dynamics and the environments in which youths operate
  • Are creative and proactive and can develop projects and bring others together around new initiatives
  • Can adapt your communication to youths, parents and professional staff
  • Work independently and value cross-disciplinary collaboration
  • Dare to have difficult conversations and be clear when something concerns you Have a structured approach to the work

Knowledge of the SSP area and crime prevention is an advantage, but we are also interested in you who have solid experience with youths and want to bring it into SSP work.

A workday that does not always fit a calendar

SSP work does not necessarily follow ordinary office hours. You must therefore be prepared that the work occasionally occurs in the afternoon or evening when it makes the most sense in relation to the youths.

In return, you will have a varied workday with a high degree of autonomy. One day you can stand in a classroom, the next be among youths and the third bring professionals together about a concern or a new initiative.

What unites the tasks is that you must create connections and help act before problems grow larger.

Are you interested in joining?

If you are curious about the position, you are very welcome to contact SSP consultant Søren Helmersen at telephone 2963 8145 or department head Janika Wiene at telephone 2152 3461.

Interviews: We will hold the first round of interviews on Friday, 20 November and the second round on Tuesday, 24 November 2026
