The Youth Team in the Department of Children & Family in Slagelse Municipality is looking for a professional coordinator — Is that you?

As our professional coordinator is moving on to new challenges, we now need a skilled professional coordinator to support our youth team.

The professional coordinator's task is to support and strengthen the already high professional level in the department.

As a professional coordinator you will be part of the implementation team as well as part of a professional working community with the department's three other professional coordinators, where close collaboration across all teams is practiced.

Who are we?

In the Department of Children and Family we are about 125 employees. We consist of two district teams that handle case processing for the age group 0-13 years, a youth team covering the age group 14-18 years (22), and a disability team that handles cases for children and young people with reduced functioning in the age 0-23 years. Each team has a team leader and a professional coordinator, which ensures close professional and personnel support and leadership.

In addition to authority advisers, each team also includes a number of prevention advisers who contribute to early and preventive efforts as well as strengthened collaboration with our general area. In addition to authority teams, we also have a Family Foster Care team and an administration.

Our center consists besides authority also of a number of internal offers, including a 24-hour unit and four family houses that handle family-related interventions.

The vacant position is in the Youth Team, and it is important that you have extensive knowledge and experience in this specific area. It is a very autonomous job, and it will be of great importance that you can work independently, take independent responsibility, prioritize tasks and provide competent professional sparring to the team.

Your role

As a professional coordinator you will work closely with the team leader to support the professional development in the team and in the department.

The tasks include, among other things

• ensure legal compliance, including through case reviews
• contribute positively to strengthening cross-disciplinary cooperation as well as involving the family and the network
• be a mentor for newly employed
• responsible for assessment of incoming referrals and case allocation
• responsible for close sparring in particularly conflict-filled cases, including placement cases
• support and quality-assure in coercive cases and UKN cases
• co-lead team meetings, guide the professional direction and development in the team

Your qualifications

• is educated as a social worker or social facilitator and has experience from the children and youth field, preferably from a similar coordinating role
• is experienced in using DUBU
• is resource- and relationship-oriented
• wishes to join and contribute to a learning- and development-oriented organisation, where your professional skills and experience are put to use
• is able to give constructive feedback as well as guide and mentor the advisers
• contributes to an appreciative culture where we all take responsibility for a good working environment
• has a driving license, as Slagelse Municipality covers a large geographic area. The municipality provides loaner cars

Where "the Department of Children & Family" is located

The Department of Children and Family is located in Slagelse close to the train station. Many commute, and if you come by train, it takes under 1 hour from Copenhagen Central Station and about half an hour from Odense.

The position is to be filled on 1 January 2027.

Salary and terms of employment

The position is paid in accordance with the applicable collective agreement with a salary placement on base salary 41 in the agreement for Danish Social Workers' Association/HK, and on top come personal allowances, negotiated according to the rules of local pay formation, as well as pension.
