About the job

Do you want to help strengthen financial management at one of Denmark's largest educational institutions? Are you passionate about financial analyses, key figures and data-driven management support – and can you communicate complex relationships so they are understandable for everyone? Then you may be our new colleague in VIA Finance.

Central and development-oriented role

We offer an exciting position in our budget department, where you will play a central role in VIA in the work with financial management, analyses and calculations that make a real difference for the management at all levels in VIA. You will work closely with the budget manager, other strong finance colleagues and have several touchpoints across VIA. You will contribute to ensuring that Finance can deliver relevant financial management support across VIA at all management levels.

The education area is in the middle of a transformation process including reform implementation, and there is an increased need to attract and retain students. The Finance department has a key role in supporting decision-makers in handling the core task, and the importance of this role is strengthened when the framework changes. You will have a key role in this. Your tasks will include cost-effectiveness calculations of reforms, political agreements, internal decisions, development, calculation and updating of key figures as well as preparation and communication of analyses.

You will collaborate broadly across the organization. Internally with finance consultants and finance partners on various ad hoc analyses and calculations, but also across disciplines. In this context you will also work on developing financial management, financial models and methods that support VIA's core task.

Communications-strong and analytical profile with strong relational skills

We are seeking an proactive, independent, analytical and curious colleague who wants to make a difference. You have a genuine interest in society coupled with a strong curiosity as your approach to your work. You are comfortable obtaining data, enjoy analyzing it and seeing the connections, and you are excited by describing and presenting them. At the same time you have an eye for the recipient's needs, and you see it as a central part of your role to create a relevant and solid decision basis for budget-responsible managers and directors.

You hold a relevant economics degree at master level, e.g. cand.oecon, cand.merc or similar. It is an advantage if you have experience, preferably from the education sector or the public sector in general, but you can also be considered as a recent graduate. The most important is that you can create an overview and work with – and be excited by – complex problems.

About the position

The position is anchored in Budget and Analysis, which is part of VIA Finance. Budget and Analysis supports the budget holders at all levels in VIA regarding financial management. There are two functions/teams in the office: Finance Partners, who have dialogues with the many budget holders, and the analytics function, which handles the more consolidating functions and cross-cutting analyses.

Much cross-work between the two functions, and the objective is to strengthen this collaboration further in the coming period. This new position should be part of that objective. Initially the placement will be in the analytics function, but there will be concrete tasks to be handled together with the finance partners.

You will report directly to the budget chief and have both finance consultants and finance partners as your closest colleagues. VIA Finance also consists of two additional offices: Accounting and Project Finance as well as Finance and Procurement. We are a total of about 50 employees in Finance.

In VIA Finance we have ambitions to contribute to VIA's core task by continuing to be a relevant and credible partner for the rest of VIA's organization. The ambitions are expressed both in a focus on ongoing professional development of employees, in the use of new technology, artificial intelligence and up-to-date processes.

Employment terms

The position is full-time.

Your primary workplace will be Campus Aarhus N, Hedeager 2, 8200 Aarhus N. There is the possibility of remote workdays taking into account the completion of tasks.

Salary and terms of employment are determined in accordance with applicable agreements and collective agreements. The position is expected to be filled under the state academic collective agreement with placement at the AC-fuldmægtig level.

We hope you can start 1 March 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The application deadline is 9 December 2026.

We expect to hold interviews in week 51 and possibly a second round in the first week of January.
