About the job

At the Center for Clinical Epidemiology we are seeking a student assistant with an interest in statistical analyses. The position is available for occupation on February 1, 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter. Center for Clinical Epidemiology conducts clinical epidemiological research with collaborators both nationally and internationally, and we provide assistance in clinical epidemiology, biostatistics and data management to projects in the Danish health system.

As a student assistant in the department you will work with data. That is, data cleaning, data linkage, creation of derived variables, as well as biostatistical analyses such as logistic regression/linear regression/Cox regression. In addition, you should be prepared to assist with other incidental tasks that may not necessarily be related to data work. Many of the datasets we work with come from central data sources in Denmark (for example the National Patient Registry, the Birth Register, the Medicines Register and the Pathology Register) and other databases. For analyses we primarily use Stata.

As a student assistant

  • we expect that you are pursuing a longer, advanced education in mathematics/applied mathematics/statistics or similar
  • we expect that you have knowledge of statistical analysis tools/programming languages. Knowledge of Stata is an advantage, but not a requirement
  • we expect that you can come twice a week with a total of 12 hours per week (can be agreed further)
  • we expect that you are at about the 5th-6th semester of your bachelor when you start with us.

Further information can be obtained by contacting the head of department, Professor Bente Mertz Nørgård, [email protected], or the biostatistician, Assistant Professor, Jan Nielsen, [email protected]. Additional information can also be found on the following websites: http://ouh.dk/cke and www.ouh.dk.

Salary and employment terms

You will be employed under the HK agreement until you have completed your bachelor. The position is intended to be filled on February 1, 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is initially for 12 hours/week and is time-limited to 1 year with the possibility of extension. Place of employment: Region of Southern Denmark with service so far at OUH, and Region of Southern Denmark is one employing authority.

Application deadline: 25 November 2026

Along with your application you should attach your CV and copies of relevant exam grades. We only accept applications electronically via Region of Southern Denmark's job portal. We expect to hold interviews on Friday 11 December 2026.
