About the job

Do you want to lead the development of Studieservice, create clear direction for the staff and ensure students a timely and smooth journey from admission to graduation? Can you also translate data, ensure digitization and strong operational management into tangible improvements? Then you could be our new Studieservice Chief.

As Studieservice Chief at SIMAC you will have strategic and operational responsibility for a department with 10 staff members. The department is to be consolidated after organizational changes, and you will have a central task in creating a clear common identity with room for diversity. It requires a development-oriented and presence-based leader who can set a clear direction, create good frameworks and ensure stable operations.

You report to the director and become part of SIMAC's top management. Here you participate in a binding leadership community where we help, challenge and enrich each other and take joint responsibility for the whole.

A central role in SIMAC's development With the strategy for 2026-2030, SIMAC is setting course to be a maritime knowledge institution of international top-class. Studieservice plays a significant role in translating the strategy into concrete actions and results.

One of your most important tasks will be to modernize and streamline administrative processes and workflows. The goal is a coherent, digital, and smooth student journey from admission to graduation. This requires high data quality, strong cross-functional collaboration, and a focus on both service, legal certainty, and resource use.

Your primary areas of responsibility

  • Leadership: Strategic development, daily operations as well as personnel, culture and change management.
  • Finance: Responsible for budget and resource allocation.
  • Collaboration: Close cooperation with the organization's other functions on cohesive solutions and a good student experience.
  • Digitization: Leadership of digital transformation and AI tools to free up resources.
  • Data & Quality: Ensuring reliable study data for authorities' reporting (STÅ) and management information.
  • Strategic data use: Translating data into actions for student well-being, progression and retention.
  • Operations & Law: Ensuring stable operations, students' legal protection and compliance with education legislation and GDPR.

Your profile We are seeking an ambitious, clear and empathetic leader with a relevant academic education and solid leadership experience from the education sector – preferably from a higher education institution. A leadership qualification is an advantage, but not a requirement.

We also place emphasis on the following

  • Experience with personnel management of administrative staff and the ability to set clear frameworks and directions.
  • Are a motivating change leader who creates psychological safety, engagement and direction – even under pressure.
  • Translate strategic goals into concrete operational management, resource optimization and measurable results.
  • Work analytically and data-driven , e.g. by proactively using study statistics to increase well-being and reduce dropout.
  • Have strong holistic understanding and naturally collaborate across the organization for common solutions.
  • Function as a culture builder who promotes community, knowledge sharing and strong teamwork.
  • Have solid digital systems and process understanding , preferably with knowledge of study administrative systems.
  • Have insight into education law and the political framework for a higher education institution.

We offer On the journey toward the Future SIMAC we have set course to be Denmark's strongest maritime educational institution, driven by a sense of community, groundbreaking expertise and collaboration that extends far beyond Svendborg Harbor.

As a manager you will have great influence and a central role in shaping the future maritime educations and how we support our students. You will have the opportunity to make a clear imprint on both the organization, culture and results.

In the management team we value innovativeness, decisiveness and the desire to try better solutions. You will become part of a professional and informal working environment with a strong management community where we support and challenge each other and lift together.
