Family foster care in Skanderborg Municipality is seeking a support-/foster family

Can you take in a sweet boy, 10 years old, 2 overnight stays every two weeks? It can be both on weekdays and weekends. Then you could be the ones we are looking for in the Family Foster Care in Skanderborg Municipality!

The boy is an open and curious boy, especially when he knows the people he is with and the place. He is helpful, fond of his family and has a twinkle in his eye.

The boy enjoys a lot of activity. He likes cycling, jumping on a trampoline, playing ball, riding a scooter, taking care of the animals at home. In addition, he plays PlayStation – Roblox and GTA. He is good at puzzles and loves sitting with LEGO. He goes to BMX in his spare time. He is a boy who loves to use his hands.

It is desired that the boy gets some days where an adult has the capacity to meet his needs. He has been assessed with Atypical autism and ADHD. He is on medical treatment. The adult relationship has great importance for the boy. He needs adults who have a twinkle in the eye, calm and present, are clear and set boundaries. It would be preferable if there are outdoor areas in relation to his joy of physical activity, so the family may live in the countryside.

As a family you should

• have experience in working with children with autism spectrum disorders and ADHD
• offer calm, structure, clarity and predictability
• offer presence and care
• meet the child with a mentalizing and validating approach
• possess calm, patience, resilience and energy
• collaborate with the child’s parents
• as the adults be prepared for one-to-one contact with the child.
• be approved as an enhanced support/foster family.

We offer you

• guidance, advice and supervision from a family foster care consultant
• supervision group 4 times a year
• 2 annual training days and the opportunity for close support startup program

In this specific case, remuneration will be paid according to Skanderborg Municipality’s remuneration model per KL tariffs – 7 Remuneration.
