Who are we

In Skærehaven, 16 adults aged 21-61 live here.

The common factor for the residents is that they are all developmentally disabled to a significant degree. Several residents have autism, Down syndrome or Angelman syndrome. In addition, the residents have very different disabilities and thus different competencies, needs and wishes. The residents are predominantly nonverbal, but some residents have limited language; others communicate through clear body language and sign to speech.

All residents have individual pedagogical plans and goals based on the individual's resources and needs. Our professional foundation is built on recognizing each resident, focusing on the residents' resources and what works. We stand professionally on structure, KRAP, autism- and neuro-pedagogical approaches. In Skærehaven all residents are mobile. They all have, to a greater or lesser extent, need for support and guidance in personal care.

All residents depend on the structure that has been planned for – and with them – to be maintained. There may be outwardly directed behavior, which we work to prevent.

We believe that as people, one achieve quality of life and development when one is understood and actively involved in one's own life. This means that we work with our residents to be actors in their own lives.

We work with a team-oriented structure. The work is organized with mixed day and evening shifts and every other weekend.

We work with the residents according to the values

  • We start from each individual's competencies and support development from there.
  • The resident is an actor in their own life.
  • The resident has the right to development, inclusion and self-determination
  • The resident's individual plan and structure are management tools in everyday life for both the resident and the employee.

The region is obliged to inform you about the starting salary for the position. You will be informed of the base salary, centrally set allowances and pension in the collective agreement. In addition to the starting salary, the pay may include any negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications.
