Join the lower secondary at Vestre School – we are looking for a German and Danish teacher

Are you keen to become part of a school with engaged colleagues, wonderful students and strong communities? We are looking for a teacher who is passionate about German and Danish and who would like to be part of our lower secondary.

Our skilled German- and Danish-teacher is moving abroad, and therefore we are looking for a new colleague. The position is basically full-time, but we are open to adjusting the number of hours. In addition to German and Danish you are very welcome to contribute with subjects such as e.g. Christianity, music or other subjects.

Vestre Skole is located in the South City – one of Silkeborg Municipality's most sought-after areas with the city, forests and lakes as neighbors. We are a “village in the city” with scouts, own sports hall, football club, badminton department, day-care centers, activity council, etc.

The school has a close collaboration with the area's cultural institutions, associations and the church.

Vestre Skole has strong support from both parents, the local community and the children.

Vestre Skole works purposefully to create a respectful form of coexistence and in recent years has, among other things, worked with “Broad Children's Communities,” which mainly focuses on supporting the teacher's differentiation possibilities at class level. “Broad Children's Communities” is both an approach, concrete tools and a goal – namely to support children's well-being and learning progression in the class. This school year has had a special focus on strengthening students' learning within the practical-musical area. This is seen, among other things, in a strengthened music initiative with cello, trumpet, choir and community gatherings as well as targeted teaching in the four arts in 0th and 1st grade. Furthermore there has in the lower secondary been a strong engagement in programs within entrepreneurship and innovation. In the coming years there will – as part of the work with Broad Children's Communities – be an increased focus on academic well-being.

The school is an upper-level school with 0.-9. grade, about 485 students, 33 teachers, 2 kindergarten leaders and about 12 pedagogical staff. About 300 children are enrolled in the after-school department (0.-6. grade). Vestre Skole is 3-streamed from 7th to 9th grade.

In addition to the school leader, the management consists of two pedagogical leaders and an administrative leader.
