About the job

Do you want to help continue the course and create the future social-psychiatric residential facility together with engaged staff and residents?

OK-Fonden Esbernhus is looking for someone who can be a professionally strong and relationally skilled team leader and at the same time can serve as deputy to the manager. We are looking for you who are motivated to create the best framework for both residents and staff, and who wish to actively contribute to the ongoing development of Esbernhus. You have experience with leadership – preferably within social psychiatry – and solid knowledge about people with social and psychiatric issues.

At the same time, you are a leader who can translate development ambitions into practice, ensure stable operations and create coherence across professional groups.

About Esbernhus

Esbernhus is a social-psychiatric residential facility for adults with mental vulnerability and consists of 30 apartments under the Housing Act § 105. We are part of OK-Fonden and are situated in a scenic, natural setting with a view of Kalundborg Fjord.

At Esbernhus we are focused on being an attractive residential facility where self-determination and quality of life come first, and a facility tailored to the needs of the present day. We work in a recovery-oriented manner and support each resident's opportunities to lead a meaningful life with as much self-determination and quality of life as possible.

Close to practice – with responsibility for operation and development

As team leader you will lead an interdisciplinary staff group consisting of pedagogues, social- and health care assistants, social- and health care helpers, care assistants, development nurse and physiotherapist. We believe that strong results are created through the interaction of different professional backgrounds and perspectives.

At Esbernhus we work targeted with recovery-oriented approaches, competency development and strengthening collaboration within the organisation. As team leader you play an important role in this development and in ensuring coherence between professional quality, well-being and operations. You will become a central sparring partner for the staff and be visible and present in daily management – close to both residents and staff. You exercise leadership in the relational sense and continue the direction of professional practice through both words and actions.

You preferably have experience with cross-sector collaboration – including local psychiatry, hospitals and municipal actors – and you have an understanding of the complexity in the psychiatry field and the applicable legal and quality requirements.

You have strong administrative competencies and work in a structured and systematic way. You follow up, ensure progress and implement initiatives so that good ideas become concrete value for the residents.

As the deputy to our manager you become an important part of Esbernhus’ leadership. The collaboration between the manager and the deputy is based on a close and trusting partnership with shared responsibility for operations, development and strategic direction.

Your tasks will include, among others

  • ensure high professional quality in the holistic approach
  • contribute to competency development, teaching and professional courses
  • support onboarding and introduction of new staff
  • ensure inspection readiness and updating of guidelines
  • participate in work schedule planning
  • participate in admissions decisions
  • support collaboration with municipalities and authorities
  • contribute to Esbernhus’ ongoing strategic development
  • participate in budgeting and financial follow-up.

We place particular emphasis on the following qualities

  • have management experience – preferably from social psychiatry
  • have a relevant professional education, e.g., nurse, pedagogue or social worker
  • have completed – or wish to begin – a leadership education, preferably at diploma level
  • work from a view of humanity characterized by respect, dignity and equality
  • focus on high professionalism and continuous development
  • can foster cross-disciplinary collaboration and support a strong sense of teamwork.

We offer

  • an exciting leadership position with great influence
  • a close collaboration with the manager in a strong leadership partnership
  • competent and engaged staff
  • an organization in change – well underway – with professional ambitions and clear values
  • an opportunity to shape the development of Esbernhus in the coming years
  • a work environment characterized by trust, integrity and cooperation.

As a leader at Esbernhus you will be part of OK-Fonden – a value-based care organization focused on equality, high professionalism, room for diversity, relationships as a resource and the importance of homely settings.
