Team Leader for Data Protection and Compliance

Then you may be our new Team Lead for Data Protection and Compliance.

A central leadership role with responsibility for data protection and compliance

We are seeking a Team Lead (senior consultant with people management) who can head the Data Protection and Compliance Team in the Legal and Business Unit. This is a newly established position.

The team plays a central role in ensuring that the Danish Courts comply with applicable laws and internal policies, guidelines and standards within data protection, information and IT security, and that the organization develops and uses digital solutions in a secure, prudent and effective manner.

The position involves extensive contact with courts, ministries, authorities and other partners.

As Team Lead you will have personnel responsibility for 5 employees with legal and other academic backgrounds. You will report to the Head of Legal and Business.

Your areas of responsibility

Together with the team you will help set the direction for the Danish Courts Administration’s work on data protection and compliance and contribute to a strong professional and social environment.

You will share responsibility for the team’s professional quality and development, prioritization and deliverables in a broad and complex portfolio of tasks.

In the role you will, among other things

• support the organization’s compliance with data protection rules and other compliance requirements
• be responsible for implementation and quality assurance of, among other things, risk assessments and impact assessments (DPIAs) for new IT solutions, systems and processes
• ensure solution-oriented advice to management, projects and the business on data protection and compliance
• contribute to the further development of governance, policies, processes and controls in the area
• support the Danish Courts Administration’s role as supervisory authority for the courts’ handling of personal data in the administrative area under the Data Protection Act and the Judiciary Enforcement Act

Among the tasks that currently have high priority are data protection law deliverables, including risk assessments and impact analyses in our upcoming North Atlantic program, which will implement subject-specific systems at the North Atlantic courts corresponding to those in Denmark. Other large and important tasks include data protection deliverables in connection with the organization’s digital transformation, including projects on artificial intelligence, as well as establishing frameworks and processes to support the requirements of the upcoming AI regulation.

About you

You are a skilled lawyer with solid experience in the data protection area. You have experience with complex legal tasks and larger cross-functional development projects. We envisage that you have experience from a government authority or another large, complex organization where you have helped create legally sound solutions across different disciplines and interests. Since you and your team work closely with our IT security and information security organization, it is an advantage if you have knowledge of the area.

Finally, it is an advantage if you have experience with people management, but the most important thing is that you have an interest and flair for leadership and can provide direction and foster well-being.

Salary and employment terms

You are hired as a senior consultant with people management under the current AC collective agreement.

An allowance can be negotiated depending on qualifications and experience.

The position is to be filled as soon as possible.
