About the job

Do you want to lead complex processes, create momentum in a politically prioritized task and ensure high professional quality in the work with Groundwater? Then you may be the right team leader to join the Agency for Green Area Reallocation and Water Environment’s task of preparing water area plans?

We are looking for a team leader who can combine secure process management with professional understanding and close personnel leadership. The Water Environment unit plays a central role in the work of developing the national water area plans, where you will help create an overview, prioritize resources and ensure that both cross-cutting processes and professional deliveries for the groundwater area are completed on time.

Your role: Create direction, momentum and professional quality

As team leader you will have personnel responsibility for 8 employees distributed across two teams in the Water Environment unit. The employees have different generalist and specialist competencies. As team leader you will be responsible for managing the process for the preparation of water area plans in the two teams. You must support that the cross-cutting tasks are completed on time, and that the professional deliveries for the groundwater area maintain a high professional quality.

You will lead two teams

  • The Coordinating AC Secretariat consists of generalists who focus on managing schedules, coordinating cross-cutting tasks and ensuring the administrative and process frameworks for water planning. The team also handles the coordination of the complex IT and data tasks.
  • The Professional Team for Groundwater and Agriculture consists of specialists who work with technical and professional issues in the groundwater area, including nitrate leaching and water balances.

Your most important task will be to lead, coordinate and prioritize the tasks in the two teams. You must ensure that the Secretariat’s process management and the professional team’s diverse tasks are performed with high quality and on time in a pleasant and good collegial collaboration.

Together with the office head you will be responsible for the continued professional development of the employees. In addition, you will, together with the office head, help set goals and direction for the unit and ensure smooth daily operations in relation to the overall task portfolio, including follow-up on finances and a healthy work environment.

The Water Environment Unit

You will become part of the Water Environment unit, which consists of 24 employees with different expertise within, among other things, water environments, processes and law. The unit is led by an office chief and a team leader, who together set the direction for the tasks and the development of the employees.

We solve, in collaboration with other units in the agency and the Environment Agency, a substantial part of the task of implementing the Water Framework Directive through the preparation of the national water area plans. This requires close coordination, strong cross-cutting cooperation and the ability to translate complex professional issues into concrete deliverables within predefined frameworks.

Your profile: A clear leader with a view for both process and professional depth

We imagine that you have experience in personnel management and thrive in a role where you must maintain an overview in a sometimes hectic daily life with many internal and external collaboration interfaces. A certain prior knowledge of the field and cross-agency contexts is therefore an advantage.

We particularly emphasize that you

  • Are strong in process leadership: You have experience in managing complex projects or processes with many dependencies and tight timelines.
  • Have professional insight: You have a good understanding of groundwater-related issues (e.g., nitrate leaching or water balances), so you can talk with and support the professional specialists.
  • Can create overview: You are able to prioritize resources and tasks.
  • Are an inclusive leader: You create well-being through trust and dialogue, and you can support knowledge sharing in the secretariat and among the professional specialists.
  • Are an active team player: You can work independently, but are at the same time an important part of the agency’s overall leadership team.

We also welcome that you have a long higher education, for example in environmental science, hydrology, agricultural science or a similar technical or natural science field, as well as solid experience with public administration.

What we offer

You will become part of a strong professional environment in an agency that plays a key role in the national green transition. As team leader you will be part of a close leadership network, where there is focus on both professional development and personal leadership development.

We offer a permanent position of 37 hours per week with good opportunities for professional sparring and influence on how we solve some of the country’s most important environmental challenges.
