Team Leader for the Utilities Team in Hørsholm Municipality

Would you like to lead a utility team that works with wastewater and waste in a strong professional environment? Then you may be our new team leader!

Your team Team Forsyning is one of three teams in Hørsholm Municipality's Center for City and Environment: Plan & Building, Road, Park & Environment and Supply. Additionally a small staff handles cross-cutting tasks including GIS.

The Supply team's tasks primarily include wastewater and waste. There is rapid development in both areas, and we are looking for a dedicated leader who can both manage daily operations and simultaneously drive and inspire work on many larger development tasks.

In the wastewater area we implement among others separate sewerage and climate adaptation throughout the municipality and work with urban development and implementation of the new legislation on terrain-near groundwater. We also collaborate with the utility NOVAFOS and other municipalities on a new common water resource center that can treat wastewater more efficiently with new and modern technologies.

In the waste area preparations for a forthcoming waste collection tender take up a lot. In addition we work daily closely with neighboring municipalities and waste collectors to ensure good service and transparent prices for waste customers. Recycling and reuse are in focus in the waste area.

In the team you will have a group of skilled, experienced and engaged employees, divided into 2 groups – Wastewater and Waste. In addition to a strong professional environment we are a team and a center that value informal tone and a humorous sense of humor.

The team is newly established. As a new team leader you thus have a key role in shaping the supply team's identity, culture and professional direction.

About you We are looking for a team leader who has the following characteristics

• A relevant professional background, including in-depth knowledge of the supply area, e.g. from a municipality or a utility company.
• Experience with working in a politically led organization, preferably a municipality.
• Experience with personnel management.
• Good ability to ensure and maintain an overview of a broad task portfolio, prioritizing tasks and creating structure and good frameworks for the team's work.
• Good ability to ensure clear and explicit frameworks for employees' task solving and ensuring ongoing sparring.
• Good ability to translate strategic goals into concrete action.
• A good eye for processes and good ability to plan complex tasks and ensure they are followed through.
• Good communication skills – both written and oral.

As a leader you can go first and set direction. At the same time you give space and inspiration so that decisions are made close to the employees through trust-based leadership and close professional sparring.

You prioritize interaction with our external world highly. You must have a secure view of citizens' and utility companies' needs and challenges, good ability to handle sometimes difficult conversations and a view to maintaining the service culture that characterizes Hørsholm Municipality.

You also prioritize good collaboration internally in our center and across the municipality's centers. Under the heading relational capacity, the municipality's leaders and managers are currently working to strengthen constructive and solution-oriented collaboration across the municipality's organization.

Finally you have good political understanding, so we can ensure good political decision proposals and proposals for political processes. You must be able to see and understand the dilemmas a politician is faced with and translate political decisions into action.
