About the job

Do you want to stand close to both people, professional expertise and the difficult decisions?

We are seeking a team leader for the Social- and Placement Team in the Family Department of the Center for Families, Youth and Early Intervention.

As team leader for the Social- and Placement Team you will lead employees who every day work with some of the children, young people and families who need the most from us. It is an area with high professional complexity, great responsibility and decisions that can have decisive significance in a child's life.

Therefore we are looking for you who can stand firm in the authority task and be close to the people who need to succeed with it.

A part of something new

The Center for Families, Youth and Early Intervention is a new center in Lejre Municipality. We have brought together a number of initiatives around children, young people and families because we want to create stronger connections between our professional disciplines and more coherence in the pathways that children and families encounter.

The Family Department consists of the Family House and Early Intervention, the Special Team, and the Social- and Placement Team.

As team leader you will be part of the management of the Family Department together with the department head and the other team leaders. Together you must ensure a department with strong professional expertise, a clear direction and operations we have under control – but also be curious about what we can do better and differently.

We are in the process of building our new organization. That means not everything is set in stone. On the other hand, there is real opportunity to influence how we should work and lead together.

You must be close to practice

We believe that good leadership in the authority domain requires proximity.

You must know your team, know the task and have an eye for where your leadership is needed. Some days it's about professional sparring on a difficult case. Other days about prioritization, finances, work environment, timeliness, or helping a team stay on course when there is a lot at stake.

You will have personnel and professional leadership responsibility for the Social- and Placement Team and be responsible for ensuring coherence between high social-professional quality and stable operations.

That means, among other things, that you must

  • be close to the staff and available for professional sparring, prioritization and decisions
  • set a clear professional direction and support quality, systematic work and timeliness in the authority work
  • have an eye for the team's tasks and workload and contribute to a good prioritization of resources
  • create room for professional reflection, learning and development
  • focus on well-being, collaboration and a sustainable working environment
  • support good collaboration with children, young people and families and with the disciplines around them
  • contribute to coherence and collaboration across the Family Department and the center.
  • participate in the managerial on-call duty, rotated with your supervisory colleagues.

We are looking for you who can stand firm without standing still

You do not need to know everything from day one. But you must have a solid social work foundation and understand the authority task you are to lead.

We imagine that you have a relevant social work education and experience from the authority area for children and young people. You have leadership experience – or have in another way shown that you can take clearly professional and organizational responsibility and are ready to step into an actual leadership role.

The most important for us is how you approach the leadership task.

We hope you are a leader who dares to be clear, even when something is difficult. That you can make decisions without believing that you always have the answer yourself. That you are genuinely curious about the staff's professional expertise, and that you can create calm, direction and following in a daily life where prioritizations sometimes have to be made quickly.

You must be able to move between the detail and the big picture. Between the concrete case and the patterns across. Between consideration for the child, the family, the staff, the professional field, the law and the resources we have at our disposal.

And you should want to lead together with others.

For we do not believe that the main challenges around children and families can be solved within one profession or one organizational box.

What you get with us

You join an organization that is in motion, and where the ambitions for children, young people and families are high.

You will have a department head close to you and leadership colleagues with whom you will develop the Family Department. You will also become part of a new center where we work purposefully to create stronger connections between the authority, treatment, early interventions, the youth area and the health-related services.

We do not promise that the task is easy.

Instead we promise that it is important.

And that you have the opportunity to make a clear mark on your team, the Family Department, the Center, and the way we from now on create coherence around children, young people and families in Lejre Municipality.
