About the job

Are you a social- and health assistant with an interest in our exciting target group, namely young adults with a diagnosis within the autism spectrum? Do you want to make a difference? Then you might be our new colleague.

About us and the job

The Autism Special Area is a department under the area "The young adults", which is part of social psychiatry.

The residential facility has room for 14 residents.

A characteristic of the target group is a great need for structure, predictability and clarity, as well as support for daily life and life in general. The citizens need support to be able to contextualize their view of life.

We focus on the young people's self-determination, independence and quality of life based on the municipality's vision of "Help for self-help".

We support the young people with various support systems, hold structured conversations, provide help and support for ADL tasks, participate in and plan various meetings concerning the individual, collaborate with the young people's relatives/networks, etc.

We work from a rehabilitative approach, where the core task is always pervasive in our work. We create varying support offers with individual development opportunities and a basis for a safe and meaningful adult life based on the citizens' wishes, dreams and hopes – which we do from a neuro-pedagogical and systemic perspective. At the same time we use tools such as MI, Empowerment and IPS.

As an employee with us, you will work in an interdisciplinary staff group consisting of educators, an occupational therapist, and social and health assistants.

We have fixed awake night shifts.

Our wishes for you

  • engaged, has enthusiasm, is professionally strong and wants to work with development

  • is curious and eager to learn new things
  • has an appreciative approach to their surroundings
  • is responsible and thinks that sparring with a colleague equals high professionalism
  • has the ability to reflect on one’s own and others' practice
  • demonstrates flexibility, patience and respect in collaboration with the individual citizen
  • can plan and initiate activities together with citizens and colleagues

We need this from our new colleague

  • Qualified social- and health assistant
  • Experience within the autism field
  • Knowledge of comorbidity, possibly eating disorder
  • Good documentation skills, as descriptions for status and similar require high professionalism

Hjørring Municipality assumes that there is a link between on one hand taking responsibility, self-determination and independence and on the other hand quality of life. The vision of citizens who master their own life is therefore about creating quality of life for the citizens.

The social psychiatry and the area for vulnerable groups have further developed the vision "Help for self-help and recovery" – the joint path to strengthening work with recovery and "help for self-help", because we believe that everyone has a right to a meaningful life and a belief that everyone can recover.
