About the job

Are you incredibly flexible and able to take shifts at all times of the day and night?

Would you like to make a difference as an hourly-paid employee at a crisis center?

Are you ready to contribute what you can to women and children in a vulnerable situation; if so, you might be the person we are looking for at Nordsjællands Krisecenter. We need engaged, flexible and caring hourly-paid staff for our fixed pool of substitutes.

We are in the process of establishing Nordsjællands Krisecenter in new, physical premises in Hundested, and you therefore have a very special opportunity to be involved from the beginning and influence everyday life, the community and the framework we create for women and children.

At Nordsjællands Krisecenter we have room for 18 women and their accompanying children. Behind every stay is a person seeking security, calm and the possibility to start anew. The crisis center aims to provide services under the Danish Social Services Act §109, where women over 18 can receive temporary shelter if they have experienced violence, threats of violence, or a similar crisis in relation to family or cohabitation issues.

Care and support are provided according to the individual woman’s and child’s needs and situation, and social, pedagogical, psychological, legal and financial support and assistance can be initiated.

As an hourly-paid employee at Nordsjællands Krisecenter you must possess good relational and humane competencies and be able to work independently.

You will become part of an existing employee corps that covers shifts, both day, evening and night, on weekends and during holidays.

The employee corps participates in meetings every 3 months with the daily manager and a fixed staff member.

At Nordsjællands Krisecenter we can offer you the following

A meaningful job where you contribute to an important societal task.

A workplace with opportunities to strengthen and develop your experience within social work.

A flexible substitute job with varying working hours, including day, evening and weekend work.

A daily life characterized by professionalism, engagement and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Opportunities to influence daily work and contribute with your professional and personal competencies.

Thorough introduction and ongoing sparring with experienced colleagues.

A respectful, supportive and safe working environment with a focus on both citizens and staff.

We expect that you

Meet people with warmth, calm and respect and have the ability to create security in a vulnerable life situation.

Are present and able to be in the moment – both in conversations and in everyday small and large needs.

Have attention to the children’s well-being and meet them with understanding, patience and care.

Thrive in a daily life that includes both relational work and practical tasks at a 24-hour facility.

Are a good colleague.

Have good written skills.

Are flexible with regard to tasks and can step in where needed.

Have the opportunity – and willingness – to contribute to shifts with short notice, and be able to contribute to 2–4 shifts per month.

Are currently studying, or have a relevant education, or otherwise have an interest in social work.

Work responsibly and with respect for confidentiality and common rules.

If you recognize yourself in this job advertisement, please send us your application.

It is a requirement that you have a driving license for a ordinary car and can present a satisfactory child and criminal record.

Interviews are held on an ongoing basis.

About us

Nordsjællands Krisecenter is a secure 24-hour facility under SL § 109, offering temporary protected accommodation to women and their accompanying children who have experienced violence, threats of violence or a similar crisis in close relationships. The crisis center has 18 places and is located in scenic surroundings.

During the stay, care and support are provided in relation to the individual woman’s or family’s situation and needs, and a holistic approach is coordinated with internal and external actors.

Empowerment is a fundamental aspect of our daily work, and a key value is to respect the women’s choices, norms and value system – and let these guide each person’s process during their stay. We work in an appreciative and resource-oriented manner with a focus on supporting a developing process, where through conversations, support and guidance, resources, freedom of action and possibilities are strengthened.

Our work is built on five strong core values: respect, inclusion, well-being, community and professionalism. With us, values are not just words but something we actively translate into everyday life – in the contact with residents, in collaboration with each other and in our professional approach.
