Transport Coordinator TBE Hobro

Denmark's Prisons is seeking a Transport Coordinator for the Transport and Escort Unit in Hobro.

As part of the Kriminalforsorgen's multi-year agreement 2018-2021, Denmark's Prisons took over the majority of detainee transports from the police. Most recently, Transport and Escorts has taken over the task of transfer of convicts and also handles selected escorted outings. In this context, transport and escort units were established in Kolding, Hobro and Copenhagen under the Agency for Denmark's Prisons.

The units are responsible for carrying out transports safely and with high quality and consist of unit chiefs, unit leaders, transport coordinators, prison officers and transport officers.

About the position

You will become part of a team of a total of two transport coordinators in the Transport and Escort Unit (TBE) in Hobro, which will contribute to the operation and coordination between Transport and Escort's three transport units, Denmark's Prisons' premises and police transport coordinators.

About the task

As a transport coordinator, in collaboration with management and the other coordinators across the units, you will be responsible for the daily coordination and planning of transports in your own unit, including ensuring optimal use of assigned personnel resources.

There is also great emphasis on the safety aspect, which is why it is a requirement that you can perform a security assessment, for example in the composition and preparation of a transport order in relation to the use of security measures.

You will work closely with our transport coordinator and it is expected that you are self-sufficient in cases of vacation and other absence.

Expectations of you

We are looking for an employee with a natural flair for structure, strong collaboration skills, high execution pace and a pronounced sense for logistics, coordination and holistic thinking.

You must have a good overview and be able to plan transports so that our staff can complete as many tasks as possible within the time available.

Since the task solving takes place across Denmark, it is important that you have a good sense of geography and travel time on drives.

You must thrive with having many balls in the air in a changing everyday life, and you are expected to take an active part in the task solving.

You must be prepared for a high degree of variability and practical challenges.

You must be able to see opportunities rather than limitations and have a desire to learn new things and a high degree of flexibility. Finally, you must be prepared for potential cross-country meetings.

It is a prerequisite that you have a knack for IT as well as good written and oral skills.

Experience with the transport and escort task as well as a security background is an advantage, but not a requirement.

Salary and employment terms

The position is a permanent full-time position with an average working time of 37 hours.

The position is to be filled on 1 December 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter.

Employment is in accordance with the current Collective Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees Organizations (OAO) – the state sector, as well as the organizational agreement for clerical workers, laboratory technicians and IT staff (HK).

If you are already employed as a civil servant in the state, there will be an opportunity to retain your civil service employment.

Area of employment is Denmark's Prisons if you are under a collective agreement.

Area of employment is the Ministry of Justice with associated institutions if you are a civil servant.

Workplace is the Transport and Escort Unit in Hobro, Adelgade 73, 9500 Hobro.

The unit reports organizationally to the Prisons Circle East, Transport and Escort.

TBE Hobro currently consists of approx. 53 employees, including one unit chief, one unit leader, two transport coordinators, approx. 49 uniformed officers. Some of them are in training as transport officers.
