About the job

Do you have a passion for Danish, and an interest in children's language development? Then we have an exciting position where you can combine teaching with a coordinator role and help strengthen children's opportunities to learn and participate in the community.

At Vemmedrupskolen we believe that the best results are created through strong communities, relationships, high professional standards and close collaboration. We are seeking a teacher for a permanent full-time position of 37 hours per week, who wants to become part of our engaged collegial community.

About the position

Your primary teaching task will be Danish in the early years. Here you will help create a safe and motivating daily life with a focus on students' reading and writing development, linguistic curiosity and a desire to learn.

In addition, you will be allocated hours to be the lead and coordinator for the initiative around a group of students in need of special support for their language development. This includes multilingual students needing support in Danish as a second language as well as students with language difficulties, including DLD (developmental language disorder).

The initiative focuses on strengthening students' vocabulary, language understanding and ability to express themselves, so they have better opportunities to participate in teaching and the school's community. The work is carried out in close collaboration with the speech-language pathologist, class teachers and the leadership.

As the lead, you will among other things

  • coordinate interventions and follow up on agreements with the involved professionals
  • contribute to ensuring linguistic goals and relevant approaches become part of the teaching
  • support knowledge sharing and sparring with colleagues
  • monitor students' development together with the speech therapist, class teachers and the leadership.

If you can also teach crafts and design or visual arts, that is a big plus. Please tell us what subjects and competencies you can contribute with.

Who are you?

You are a trained teacher, have teaching competence in Danish and an understanding of children's language development and the challenges that can be associated with it. You are clear in your classroom management and meet the children with warmth, respect and positive expectations.

We also emphasize that you

  • can work structurally and maintain an overview in a coordinating role
  • thrive in close collaboration with colleagues, other professionals and parents
  • take responsibility and follow up on joint agreements
  • contribute with engagement, curiosity and good humor.

You do not need to be able to do everything from the first day. The most important is that you have a solid teaching foundation and a desire to develop your practice in collaboration with others.

What we offer

With us you will become part of a workplace where we help each other, share ideas and take joint responsibility for the students' learning and well-being.

You will get

  • engaged and helpful colleagues
  • a visible and approachable leadership with room for dialogue and sparring
  • allocated time for the coordinator role and close collaboration with the speech therapist, class teachers and leadership
  • an opportunity to shape and develop the school's language initiatives
  • good physical surroundings at a modern and renovated school
  • a daily life with humor, trust and room for professional development.
