About the job

Would you be our next Chief Physician for Cardiology at Midt- and West Zealand Hospital?

As Chief Physician in Medicine 2 you will have the opportunity to set direction and achieve results, and you do not have to do it alone. We believe that good leadership is about setting direction, creating following, and giving others the opportunity to succeed. As Chief Physician with us you do not necessarily have to be the most specialized professional in the department, but you must be able to create the framework for others to succeed and thus ensure development, job satisfaction and the high quality in patient care that is our pride and ambition.

Together with the Chief Nurse and the rest of the department’s leadership team, you will be responsible for the strategic development and operation of the department. The task is to ensure high-quality patient pathways in our department while supporting a good working environment for the staff. The department is undergoing a positive development with particular focus on cross-disciplinary collaboration with the Emergency Department on patient pathways with expected short length of stay.

You will have the opportunity to strengthen and develop collaboration and working culture internally in the department and engage in a trusting and multidisciplinary collaboration with the other departments at Midt- and West Zealand Hospital and partners in the region.

In Medicine 2 the basic idea is that strong results are created through close, trusting, and equal management collaboration, where we dare to challenge each other, make joint decisions, and stand together on the direction.

You will contribute to developing the clinical quality in patient pathways, meeting indicators and targets, development of the cardiovascular area, and good training programs for doctors and medical students.

We place particular emphasis on

  • You are an experienced consultant with good knowledge of the medical field
  • You have leadership experience and ambitions to develop your leadership skills
  • You are curious about the field and staff
  • You have the courage to set a direction and make decisions – even when they are difficult.
  • You are curious about colleagues' challenges and joint solutions
  • You focus on financial and resource management

We believe you can see new development opportunities for safe patient care pathways through innovation, quality development and clinical research. Our goal is to create a department that speaks to the region’s health profile and to citizens’ needs for health equity.

We want you, with a trust-based and appreciative leadership style and clear communication, to keep focus on the primary task in a busy everyday life, to work systematically and data-driven with quality development, and to be able to see challenges from multiple sides to obtain the best solutions and invite other perspectives in on an ongoing basis.

Medicine 2 is the hospital’s cardiology department with two inpatient wards and two outpatient clinics, an integrated endocrinology outpatient clinic, a Diagnostic Center, and a Thrombosis and AK Center.
