VIA Cafeteria at Campus Aarhus N is seeking a skilled cook, caterer or nutrition assistant for a maternity leave cover from January 1 to December 31, 2027

Are you passionate about creating tasty meals with seasonal ingredients and high quality? The canteen at VIA University College Campus Aarhus N is looking for a trained chef, caterer or nutrition assistant who would like to become part of our dedicated kitchen team.

The position is a maternity cover contract with employment from January 1, 2027 to December 31, 2027. You will be attached to the canteen at VIA Campus Aarhus N for the entire period.

Working hours mainly Monday-Friday between 6.45-14.30 with a few weekend and evening shifts.

YOUR TASKS

You should be able to work in all kitchen functions; preparation of morning and lunch menus, guest service, hot, cold, baking, greens, pickling, sandwiches and preferably experience with fermentation. Servicing and serving customers as well as cleaning are a natural part of the daily work.

VIA has 13 canteens, which work together across with a common strategy, therefore there may also be opportunities for internship days in other canteens of VIA.

• You are trained as a chef/caterer or nutrition assistant and have experience from a similar position.
• You have a high level of professionalism and passion for the discipline.
• You can work independently and responsibly and prioritize your own tasks.
• You have good orderliness, work in a structured way and have an excellent overview.
• You are service-minded, flexible and passionate about making tasty healthy food with a sustainable focus.
• You are a team player and actively and consciously contribute to a good working environment, and are reliable.
• You have a good smile and are good at communicating with customers and colleagues and prioritizing good hospitality.
• You want to share knowledge with colleagues and are self-motivated for ongoing learning and professional development.
• You want to work with a focus on sustainable canteen operations.

At VIA Campus Aarhus N we prepare food for students on professional bachelor programs as well as for course participants and staff. The campus has 2,750 students and 650 employees, and the canteen has seating for 500 guests. You will become part of a kitchen team of 15 full- and part-time employees with diverse professional backgrounds.

SALARY AND EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS

Salary and employment terms are set according to applicable agreements and collective agreements. For qualified chefs and caterers the pay and employment terms follow the joint agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees Organizations as well as the organizational agreement for kitchen staff trained in dietetics. For nutrition assistants the joint agreement between the Ministry of Finance, CO10 and LC as well as the organizational agreement for kitchen staff trained in dietetics apply.

The position is a full-time role in a fixed-term maternity cover from January 1, 2027 to December 31, 2027.

The place of employment is VIA Campus Aarhus N, Hedeager 2, 8200 Aarhus N.
