Educator sought for a permanent 37-hour position at VoLiS Svenstrup

VoLiS Svenstrup is seeking a trained educator for a permanent 37-hour-per-week position with start as soon as possible or no later than December 1.

About VoLiS

VoLiS is a special school provision for students from 0th to 10th grade. Our students are vulnerable children and young people with extensive family, social, emotional and well-being challenges. Common to them is a need for smaller communities, a high adult-to-student ratio, as well as a clear structure and a high degree of predictability.

The students need adults who can remain calm, create an overview and take responsibility for the relationship – even when it becomes difficult.

VoLiS is a full-day offering with opening hours from 7:00 to 16:00 and is organized into three teams of 8-12 students per team. As an educator at VoLiS you will need to be able to work with students in all target groups and perform tasks in both school and DUS (after-school program). In the current school year the primary attachment in the school part will be with our oldest students.

The pedagogical work

Our everyday life is characterized by small teaching groups, sheltered workstations and clear frameworks with fixed structures. There are also wide margins for working with alternative teaching forms and practice-based teaching where it makes sense.

The students often need extra time, repetitions and close guidance – academically, socially and personally. We work consciously to minimize changes and stressful transitions, so the day feels safe and manageable.

Our pedagogical stance is built on low arousal , an appreciative approach and neuroeducation . We believe that children do the best they can. If a child does not succeed, it is an expression that something is blocking – and then it is our task to adjust the surroundings.

With us we prioritize prevention, regulation and relationship work over power struggles. Problematic behavior is regarded as communication, and the responsibility for the relationship always lies with the adults.

About the position

As an educator at VoLiS you will

• participate in and support the teaching
• work closely relationally with the students
• engage in social training and structured activities in small groups
• actively contribute to the interdisciplinary collaboration between teachers, educators and management as well as external partners
• plan, oversee and evaluate planned activities related to teaching in primary school

We are looking for an educator who

• is a trained educator
• has interest in – or experience with – special education
• can work in a structured way and create an overview in a complex daily life
• can stay calm in situations with verbal and physical resistance
• has a desire for professional reflection and close collaboration with colleagues
• takes responsibility for the relationship and meets the children with calm, patience and clarity

Practical information

• There will be criminal and child protection checks upon employment
