Data consultant for management information and data governance

Become the one who makes our data robust, usable and understandable for management at Faxe Municipality Do you like to have your hands in data, but also to sit around the table with managers, HR, IT and suppliers and find the solution that works for everyone? Then you are the one we are looking for.

We are creating a new position as a data consultant in the Staff for Finance & Technology. You will be responsible for developing and operating our management information in Targit and for ensuring that the data behind the reports is accessible, usable and supports the organisation's needs.

Your first major task: sickness absence data We start with sickness absence data in close cooperation with HR. Today we rely on external consultants in the area. That must change.

You must ensure that we can operate, maintain and further develop the solution ourselves, and at the same time be able to engage critically and curiously with the data we work with.

Data is not always perfect. Therefore you must be able to detect when something does not look right, investigate what might be behind it, and contribute to finding a solution. This can be through dialogue with suppliers, subject areas, HR, IT or colleagues. You do not have to be able to solve all the problems yourself – but you should want to dive into them and solve them together with the relevant parties.

When the sickness absence is in place, you will build on personnel data (e.g. staff turnover) and later financial data, so we can see economy, personnel and operations in context.

About the job You will be both the one who develops, and the one who makes things hang together. You will, among others, do the following:

• Develop, maintain and document dashboards, analyses and data models in Targit
• Work with standard cubes from KMD and ensure that we use the common standards that exist across municipal platforms
• Make the sickness absence solution self-driving and independent of external consultants
• Engage with data and respond if data or results do not look right, and help identify causes and solutions in collaboration with relevant suppliers, departments and colleagues
• Have ongoing dialogue with suppliers of our IT systems and with our own IT department about data basis, access, updates and bug fixes
• Define and contribute to developing standards for documentation, testing and building of reports
• Facilitate dialogues with managers and subject areas about what needs the management information should cover, and help prioritise between development requests when there are more requests than time
• Translate management needs into concrete analyses and visuals that busy managers can use

Your day-to-day and collaboration You will be based in the Staff for Finance & Technology, but work closely with the Staff for HR & Secretariat, especially at the start. You will be at the crossroads of management, managers, local leaders, financial consultants, HR, the IT department and external suppliers. They do not always have the same wishes or time horizon, and your task is to create an overview, align expectations and find a way that works.

Who are you? You are technically strong and relationally strong. We imagine that you

• Have experience with BI tools such as Targit, Power BI or similar, and with working with data models, cubes and data sources
• Are analytical and curious about data, and can see when something does not add up or looks different from expected
• Have an understanding of data quality, data structure and documentation and work systematically, even when pace is high
• Can articulate technical topics precisely to IT people, suppliers and leaders without an IT background
• Are comfortable facilitating dialogues where different interests are at stake, and have the courage to say what can be done and what must wait
• Can build trust and collaboration up, down and across
• Are curious, independent and take responsibility for delivering tasks

Your background may be in data/BI, IT, economics, social sciences or something else entirely. The most important thing is that you can demonstrate experience with data and development of management information, and that you can collaborate with many different disciplines.

Familiarity with KMD's standard cubes, municipal data, FLIS/ATHENE and the public sector is an advantage but not a requirement if you are eager and able to learn it.

Salary and employment • Full time, 37 hours per week

• Employment according to applicable collective agreement and negotiations
