About the job

Physiotherapist for the Respiratory Medicine Department J

Permanent position of 37 hours with appointment on 1 November 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Who are we

You will become part of the physiotherapy and occupational therapy group in the Cardiovascular, Lung and Vascular Surgery Department T, but your primary work will be at the Respiratory Medicine Department J.

You will however also have to assist colleagues in other departments as the physiotherapy and occupational therapy group, in addition to the Respiratory Medicine Department, also covers the Cardiac and Pulmonary and Vascular Surgery Department T1 and T3, the Infectious Diseases Department Q, the Intensive Care Unit V (VITA and ITA), and the Cardiology Department B as well as outpatient functions in these departments.

Our group of therapists includes 16 physiotherapists and 4 occupational therapists, and we are characterized by a high professional level, commitment, helpful, social and attentive to one another. We enjoy great recognition from management in our tasks, and there is freedom with responsibility and a lot of influence on the work tasks.

Your tasks will primarily be to provide physiotherapy to patients admitted to the Respiratory Medicine Department, where there are 2-3 therapists permanently attached. You will participate in daily clinical work in the department, where there is close contact between the interdisciplinary collaborators, i.e., occupational therapists, doctors and nursing staff. The tasks will mainly be assessment and treatment of hospitalized patients, including respiration physiotherapy.

This includes physical and respiratory assessments that one as a physiotherapist must be able to take responsibility for and make decisions about. In addition, development of rehabilitation plans and assessment of the need for treatment devices. We work purposefully with a rehabilitative approach to create a more active hospitalization for the patients.

In the Respiratory Medicine Department, patients with diseases such as e.g. pneumonia, COPD, emphysema, pneumothorax, abscesses, asthma, fibrosis or other interstitial lung diseases are commonly seen. You will also need to be able to handle assessments of ambulatory interstitial lung patients in the department's outpatient clinic.

The working hours are between 07:00 and 18:00. However, mainly between 07:30 and 16:00. Weekend and public holiday work occurs.

We are seeking a skilled physiotherapist who

  • has interest in and preferably experience with the respiratory medicine specialty.
  • would preferably have hospital experience, but it is not a requirement.
  • is proactive and inquisitive in developing one's own professional knowledge into the multidisciplinary collaboration in the department, so that patients experience a more active admission.
  • can engage in close multidisciplinary collaboration around the individual patient, create calm in patient treatment and have an appreciative and positive approach to their tasks, colleagues and partners.
  • thrives in a day with varying pace and tasks and can take initiative for assignments on quieter days.
  • is visible, engaged and has a clear presence in the department and can contribute positively to openness and dialogue.
  • has a twinkle in the eye, contributes with good humor and focuses on a good working environment.
