Would you be the one to create a calm and predictable transition from kindergarten to home for a boy who needs structure?

About the task

You will be a steady support for a boy with infantil autism, who loves dinosaurs, LEGO, puzzles and drawing. He has no physical limitations, but needs support with structure, communication and social situations.

Your task is to pick him up from kindergarten and stay with him until he gets home. You can be on the playground in the area or go home and do calm activities. You create a predictable framework and help him with transitions and shifts.

He needs guidance in everyday routines, e.g. getting dressed and remembering to wash hands. In social contexts, he can be impulsive and easily overwhelmed, especially if there is noise or many demands. Here it is important that you are clear, create calm, and adjust the pace.

There is light personal care involved, e.g. help with toilet visits and, if needed, changes of clothing.

The purpose of the intervention is also to give the family a break in everyday life.

About you

You have experience with children with autism or similar challenges and are familiar with working with structure, predictability and clear communication.

You can work independently and take responsibility for a 1:1 assignment. You are concrete in your guidance and can read the child’s needs and adjust your approach.

You can be unskilled with relevant experience. If you are trained, you are paid according to your education.

Working hours

The position is about 14 hours per month.

You work fixed every Monday from 15:30–18:30.

You will become part of a family-owned company with many dedicated employees. You have a fixed advisor whom you can always consult for support. Outside office hours there is always a staffed emergency phone, so you are never alone. Salary and pension according to the National Agreement for disability assistance in citizens’ own homes (minus BPA) entered into between FOA and Dansk Erhverv. You are covered by DUOS’ liability and workers’ compensation insurance and health insurance is part of your pension scheme.

You receive relevant onboarding and ongoing upskilling - and you will inevitably develop both personally and professionally when you work with people with us at DUOS.
