2 skilled choir singers (soprano and alto) sought for the Cathedral Choir at Roskilde Cathedral

Are you a soprano or alto?

Do you have experience with classical choral singing and would you like to sing in one of the country’s most magnificent church spaces?

Now you have the opportunity to become part of the Domkoret at Roskilde Cathedral. We are seeking 2 singers: a soprano and an alto; preferably with dynamic flexibility and good sight-singing abilities.

We are a choir of 12 singers who participate in all high masses on Sundays and holidays and sing at services at 17:00 on Sundays and holidays according to a roster (about every 3rd Sunday). We have choir rehearsal one hour before the high masses.

Roskilde Cathedral buzzes with musical activities year-round, and the Domkoret also sings at concerts and at special liturgical services. In 2025 we performed Arvo Pärt's Johannespassion before Easter and double choral works by JS Bach at a concert for All Saints' Day together with the cathedral’s boys’ choir.

The choir has a long tradition of a good social community, where we meet and eat together from time to time and in general enjoy the tasks together. We have many young singers, often with a background in one of the cathedral’s youth choirs.

There is ample opportunity to develop within the choir, which has a high level of ambition. We sing everything from the earliest music to very new music and like to try out new things – and repeat them and become really good at them.

The Cathedral Choir School has its own piano teacher and vocal solo lessons attached, which one can book for a fee. Many take advantage of it in periods, for example in connection with admission to MGK or the music conservatory.

Roskilde Cathedral is only a 10-minute walk from Roskilde Station. There are good bus connections to the surrounding area, and trains to Copenhagen take about 25 minutes. Several of our singers live in Copenhagen.

Please send your application as soon as possible. We respond continuously and call for interviews and auditions as appropriate.

Joining from December 1 or as soon as possible.
