Your role at Egely

Your role contains both the big picture and close contact. You will be responsible for strategic development, personnel leadership and professional direction, and you will at the same time be closely involved in day-to-day operations in the department. You must therefore have an eye for creating the framework, but also the interest in being present when needed.

As a new leader, one of your most important tasks, together with your leadership team, is to support the use of common collaboration processes and methods in a coordinated course across departments and units, thereby contributing to a culture where collaboration, professionalism and well-being go hand in hand.

You will participate in an ongoing process where the leadership task is to ensure that everyday operations are stable and function safely and meaningfully, and where we as a leadership team also focus on being coordinated, harmonized and transparent on shared efforts and decided actions and workflows – to the benefit of both employees and the youth.

At Egely you form, together with 3 other colleagues, the leadership team. One sits at another site, Ungehuset Røjleskov. You, together with your 2 colleagues at Egely, are responsible for daily operations as well as strategic leadership. Likewise, you will lead three professional leaders, as well as personnel management of about 80 staff with all that entails.

Your primary leadership areas are secure departments, but you will also have other delegated leadership tasks for other teams and supporting functions, as well as cross-cutting coordinating roles across the center’s departments.

In the leadership team there is a binding collaboration, where we insist on mixing into each other’s leadership space, to inspire and to create coherent and holistic interventions in a common Egely.

About every four weeks you are on call outside regular working hours (may vary during holidays and absence) across Egely and Ungehuset Røjleskov. Here you solve urgent tasks, e.g., intake calls, handling of forceful measures and permission for special actions. It is remunerated with a supplement.

Egely - in short

Egely is Region of Southern Denmark’s secure 24-hour institution for youths aged 12 to 17 who are placed on legal or social grounds. We have a total of 14 places, of which 4 are in the specially secured department. There are about 60 youths admitted per year. The youths we work with often have complex challenges with outwardly directed behavior, criminality, substance abuse or psychiatric issues.

Under Egely also lies Ungehuset Røjleskov, which is a partly closed institution for vulnerable and at-risk youths with various issues, e.g., criminal behavior, substance abuse or psychiatric problems.

Our most important task is to help the youths find calm and stability so they can build new life strategies and take steps toward a better future.

All children and youths of compulsory school age at Egely are offered education, based on the subjects of the Danish folkeskole with full subject range and exams. Other youths, who are not covered by compulsory schooling, are offered day activities.

The region is committed to informing you about the starting salary for the position.

Since there is no requirement for a particular primary education, the base salary, centrally fixed allowances and pension for the relevant collective agreement will be communicated to you upon potential invitation to interview.

The position requires a driving license for a passenger car.
