Head of Department for Ungecenter Nexus

Would you like to help make a difference for young people in vulnerable positions – and at the same time have a central role close to both staff and management?

Ungecenter Nexus is seeking a professionally strong and engaged department head for 37 hours per week with desired start date 1 December 2026.

As department head you participate in the daily pedagogical practice and in the duty roster together with the rest of the staff group at Nexus. At the same time you will have an important role as a visible and accessible sparring partner for the staff and contribute to professional direction, coordination, and solving concrete pedagogical and administrative tasks.

A significant part of the role is also to support and develop the interdisciplinary collaboration around the young people.

The work involves evening and weekend work. There is also weekly allocated time for managerial and administrative tasks.

About Ungecenter Nexus

Ungecenter Nexus is a municipal service for young people aged 18–25 who find themselves in vulnerable positions. We offer a safe and stable environment where the young can receive support, participate in activities and join positive communities.

We work relationship-based and holistic with the starting point in each young person's needs, resources and opportunities. Part of our task is also Ungestøtte, where we provide individually tailored support to young people who need a more targeted pedagogical intervention.

Through presence, relationships and close collaboration with relevant professionals, we support the young people in their development and in creating positive changes in their lives.

We are looking for you, who

• are a trained pedagogue – this is a requirement, as you will be part of the pedagogical operations and the duty roster
• have experience with young people in vulnerable positions
• have strong relational and pedagogical competences
• can maintain an overview and act professionally and securely in a changing daily life
• have the desire and ability to be a professional sparring partner for your colleagues
• can work independently and take responsibility for both pedagogical and administrative tasks
• have good collaboration skills and experience with interdisciplinary collaboration
• thrive being close to everyday practice and at the same time have a leadership perspective

Management experience or a leadership education is an advantage, but not a requirement.
