We are expanding our staffing on the unit and are looking for more educated social pedagogues who want to help ensure the very best conditions for placed children and youths at Fogedvænget.

About us and the core task

Fogedvænget is a special education 24/7 unit with an internal school under the Special Area Children and Young People (Region Midt - SBU), located in Hedensted. Our target group is children and young people, primarily with pervasive developmental disorders, autistic traits and cognitively low functioning levels. Several have little to no verbal language, and they can show outwardly aggressive behavior when they feel powerless.

Our core task is to offer a highly specialized intervention, where predictability, low-stimulation and alternative communication create the framework for the child’s well-being, development and life mastery. We work consistently and professionally based on Neuroaffective Developmental Psychology (NAU), Low Arousal and LA2-U to always look behind the behavior and understand the child’s inside perspective.

Children have an absolute need for calm adults who can create structure and recognizability. To thrive and succeed with us we expect that you:

• Are a trained pedagogue, and you meet the child with authenticity, heart and professionalism at the forefront
• Carry yourself with calm and can maintain composure – even when things escalate, and the child needs you to step back and create low-stimulation
• Work in a practice-oriented manner and take pride in both the pedagogical relational work and in handling personal care and health-related tasks
• Want to work systematically with Sign to Speech, pictograms and fixed daily structures
• Can work purposefully with documentation, milestones and risk assessments in our journal system
• Can work regularly every other weekend

We equip you professionally thoroughly

At Fogedvænget we prioritize your onboarding highly. In order for you to settle well into the tasks, we offer:

• A structured introductory program, where you in your first shifts go as a “shadow” outside the standard staffing
• Assignment of a fixed mentor for up to 3 months, who ensures your training in our workflows, pedagogical didactics and culture
• Scheduled and prioritized follow-up conversations with the management after both 4 and 8 weeks to ensure your professional development and well-being
• A strong multidisciplinary environment with including therapists, social workers, teachers and a nurse, where we have each other’s backs, as well as leadership that is present and clear

Practical information and application

Salary and conditions of employment in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Social Pedagogues and Danske Regioner.

These are permanent positions of 37 hours per week with mixed day and evening shifts, as well as weekend work.

Application deadline is 22 November 2026.

Start date will be 1 January 2027, or earlier.

A criminal and child protection check will be obtained upon employment.

The position is, as a rule, a full-time position.
