This is the job for you , who want to become an on-call substitute at a residential facility where we work every day to support and help residents with special needs.

As an on-call substitute at Habitus, you can expect long onboarding sessions that give you a few working days and thus high flexibility in your private life. Each day you will work alongside colleagues who – just like you – are passionate about helping those who have the most difficulty. You can look forward to close collaboration in the fixed team around the resident as well as with the rest of the house in daily sparring.

With us you get a lot of responsibility and the opportunity to take ownership of your tasks. You will become an important part of the house with the ability to make independent decisions. Sparring is, however, also a natural part of everyday life, where we are curious about each other and our differences.

We are looking for on-call substitutes for both our main facility and our two standalone houses.

We expect that you have

• A relevant pedagogical or health-social education qualification – such as pedagogue, pedagogical assistant, teacher, social worker, occupational or physiotherapist, SOSU-assistant or nurse (must have an interest in the pedagogical field)
• Knowledge of autism, TEACCH and work with people with mental health challenges
• A flexible approach to working hours, including weekends
• A professional ability that allows you to remain calm even when the waves run high
• A high degree of empathy, honesty and a willingness to take responsibility
• Experience with personal care – otherwise we will teach you
• Driver's license B

About Habitushusene Sønderkær

With us you will become part of an engaged team that centers around the resident, who has extensive developmental disorders within the autism spectrum. At our soloist offerings we work with a 2:1 staffing ratio, while at Sønderkær itself we work with a 2:5 ratio, which means you have time for in-depth engagement with the resident. This gives you a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the work around the individual resident and work purposefully with the pedagogical strategies you have established in collaboration with your team.

Daily life at the offering includes activities in the house and daily outings, all aligned with the resident's daily schedule, where the activity descriptions are followed. Good structures for the resident's daily life have been developed. It is therefore important that you are familiar with working with visual structured pedagogy to support the work with these.

Although we generally experience that this pedagogy helps reduce problematic behavior, you must still be prepared for challenging situations when residents become frustrated. Here, it is essential that you apply your pedagogical understanding and provide professional care.
