Building Manager in Helsingør Municipality

Do you want to take responsibility for your own buildings and help ensure good conditions for those who use them every day?

We are looking for at least one new colleague for our operations team in the Facilities and Maintenance Team.

As the operations manager you will be responsible for a portfolio of municipal buildings and become the lead construction professional around them. You will monitor the buildings' condition, prioritize maintenance needs and ensure that smaller maintenance and construction tasks are planned and carried out.

Helsingør Municipality's properties range from schools, day care centers and administrative buildings to older, valuable and protected properties. The buildings have been constructed in different periods and for very different purposes, and the job therefore requires both technical building knowledge, good collaboration skills and a willingness to find practical solutions that work in practice.

The tasks are carried out in close collaboration with colleagues in the property area, technical service staff, the buildings' users as well as external craftsmen and advisers.

Your responsibility

As a building manager you will, among other things, be

• taking on the construction-related responsibility for a number of selected municipal buildings
• carrying out building inspections, recording and prioritizing maintenance needs
• preparing financial estimates for maintenance tasks
• planning and carrying out maintenance tasks and small construction projects
• managing your own tasks and projects up to about DKK 300,000
• coordinating with users, our technical team, technical service staff, craftsmen, advisers and other partners
• following up on economy, time and quality
• contributing your expertise to the development of our building operation

You will have great freedom to plan your work and make the professional decisions about your tasks. In return, we expect you to take ownership, follow up and ensure that the tasks are brought to completion.

Who are you?

We imagine that you have a crafts background, preferably complemented by a relevant further education such as a Building Constructor. The most important thing, however, is that you have a solid building technical understanding and experience that enables you to assess a building and translate needs into concrete solutions.

The position is placed in the Center for Economy and Properties. The center supports, services and advises the City Council, management, other centers in the municipality and decentralized units within, among other things, economy and properties.

Practical information

The position is full-time with expected start on 1 December 2026. Salary is according to the applicable agreement.
