Social Worker for the Family Department's Reception - Maternity Leave Cover

Then it’s you we are looking for. We have, indeed, come into fortunate circumstances in the Family Department's Reception, and we are therefore seeking a Child and Youth Counselor for a parental leave cover with a start on January 1, 2027.

The Family Department's Reception consists of seven Child and Youth Counselors, who every day solve meaningful tasks with a high level of professionalism and are driven by making a real difference in the life of the child or the young person. The Reception is the citizen's first meeting with the Family Department. Therefore, in the Reception we take great pride in working holistically and across professions. We work systematically to ensure smooth case flow out into civil society and into the Family Department.

In the Family Department we have our five Child School Counselors, who organizationally are positioned in the Prevention team. The Child School Counselors sit on a daily basis out at the schools to strengthen early detection and ensure a more coherent and effective effort in the preventive framework. The Child School Counselors have a close interface with the Reception.

We especially value that you

• are a trained social worker or social educator
• have experience with authoritative work and preferably experience from a reception function in a Family Department
• have knowledge of the Child Act
• work with a high degree of inclusion of the child, the young person and their families
• see network-involving methods and family conferences as meaningful and have a high commitment to working with these

• have experience with working in DUBU and using ICS as your professional framework
• have a driving license and access to your own car.

About the Family Department

The Family Department consists of 70 child and youth counselors (distributed in the Prevention team, the Reception, the Children team, the Youth team and the Disability team), one head of the Family Department, four team leaders, two cross-disciplinary professional consultants and four professional coordinators in the Children team, Youth team and Disability team.

The Family Department supports, through early intervention, holistic coordination and genuine involvement, a coherent process that supports children, young people and their families in particularly vulnerable situations.

About the Reception

In the Family Department's Reception, the Child and Youth Counselors receive inquiries to the Family Department and help the citizens and collaboration partners further when needed. We provide relevant advice and guidance, receive notifications, perform 24-hour assessments and screenings (including conducting involvement and holding screening meetings). We decide on the further case process.

Long-term and sustainable solutions are best achieved when the network and the professionals cooperate on the effort for the child, the young person and their families. Therefore, we actively work with network-involving methods and family conferences.

Salary and employment terms

In accordance with the applicable collective agreement between KL and the negotiating organizations.

It is a maternity leave cover of 37 hours per week.
