About the job

We are looking for skilled child- and youth counselors who want to be part of an engaged colleague group, passionate about creating development and well-being for young people and their families.

We are looking for a child- and youth counselor for a permanent position as well as two maternity covers. The positions start on 1 January 2027.

About the position

As a child- and youth counselor at Ungeliv you will be responsible for case processing in a number of youth cases, which you, in close collaboration with the youths, the families, your colleagues and the rest of the house’s many competent professionals, will work to create a positive development in.

We have an exciting and broad target group, consisting of young people with different forms of disadvantage. This can range from crime to psychiatric diagnoses, functional impairments, substance abuse or challenging upbringing conditions. You will also have the opportunity to work with a wide range of interventions for the youths, including both supportive interventions, compensatory support and placements, where the aim is to create progression and stability for the youth regardless of the level of intervention.

The goal for the youths will be independent youth and adult life, and the focus will therefore be on the transition from school life to youth life including employment, education, and any further interventions in Your Social Entrance, Youth.

About Ungeliv

Ungeliv consists of about 25 child- and youth counselors, three crime- and safety workers, six employees in the crime-prevention effort ’Den Korte Snor’, two employees in the project U-Space, two team leaders and one department head. As a child- and youth counselor at Ungeliv you will have a fixed caseload of around 25 youths aged 14-23, and you will work with all case phases.

We work with co-managed teams, where you as a child- and youth counselor become part of a strong working community with partnerships around complex cases, and where you have close professional sparring with your colleagues and your nearest supervisor. This creates frameworks for knowledge sharing and professional development, both individually and across the team.

In Ungeliv we have a sharpened focus on continuously including the youth’s voice, initiating early and timely interventions for the youths and families, including finding solutions in the family’s network, local area and civil society.

We place high value on the citizen’s legal rights, and thus have high expectations for practice, written work, close involvement and contact with the youth, as well as systematic dialogue with our partners who provide the support that we initiate around the youth.

About you

You have an educational background as social worker/social facilitator or similar. It is an advantage if you have previously worked with authority work in the child- and/or youth area, and if you have experience with working in DUBU and with SOS and/or ICS methods.

As a child- and youth counselor you must be able to function as a facilitator for change in the families and take on the authority role with courage and responsibility.

We attach importance to having an affirming and solution-focused approach to the work, and that you are development-oriented. You must dare to set demands and be insistent, while at the same time involving the youths and families with whom you collaborate. It is our fundamental value that solid professional competence goes hand in hand with constructive collaboration. We can and will collaborate with everyone around our social-educational assessments.

What you get with us

In Valby-Vesterbro-Kgs. Enghave Ungeliv (VVK) we place emphasis on being a workplace with a high ceiling both professionally and socially, where we value that the individual contributes with good ideas and initiative. We have an ambition to make the authority role a clear career choice, where a social worker has the opportunity to develop professionally and bring their social-educational competencies into play. With us you are not alone with the cases.

On the contrary, you can expect that we take a joint responsibility for the case processing, and that you become part of a professional community where we care about and help each other.

It is important for us to welcome new colleagues well. You will therefore be offered an induction program, where you receive an individually tailored introduction plan and a mentor who will help you with big and small in your first period. In addition you will have frequent case reviews with your immediate supervisor in the first three months.

Furthermore you will meet with us

  • a organization where well-being and job satisfaction are valued highly, and where we see ourselves as a unit solving tasks together
  • opportunities to specialize in one or more areas and participate in development projects, professional activities etc. according to interest
  • good professional sparring from colleagues and management as well as supervision
  • a workplace with a strong collegial community and many social events
  • flexible working hours, possibility for home office and a good canteen arrangement

Salary and employment terms

Salary and terms of employment according to the collective agreement for social workers, social facilitators and/or HK collective agreement for administration and IT.

The working hours are 37 hours per week. We have a long Thursday (until 17:00) and a short Friday (until 14:00).

The positions are all full-time and to be filled by 1 January 2027. The maternity covers are expected to run until 31 July 2027.

In connection with the hires we obtain extended child- and criminal records checks and take references.
