The Psychiatric Outpatient Clinic Ballerup is seeking a principal psychologist in psychiatry for the clinic's four FACT teams. The position is aimed at you who want to apply your specialized competencies in work with patients with complex psychiatric issues, and who thrive with both independent clinical responsibility and active participation in joint treatment planning and professional development.

About F-ACT

The Psychiatric Outpatient Clinic Ballerup offers flexible, need-based and outreach treatment based on the F-ACT model (Flexible Assertive Community Treatment). The multidisciplinary treatment offering is provided to patients in need of hospital-based psychiatric treatment. In the outpatient clinic we work with a wide spectrum of psychiatric diagnoses, including psychotic disorders, affective disorders, anxiety, PTSD and personality disorders.

The principal psychologist position covers the entire F-ACT outpatient clinic. We work in multidisciplinary teams and your closest colleagues will be doctors, specialists, psychologists, nurses, social workers, occupational therapists and recovery mentors as well as secretaries.

The outpatient clinic has implemented treatment programs for patients with non-psychotic disorders based on cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy as well as integrated dual diagnosis treatment of patients with concurrent substance use.

What does a typical day look like?

As a principal psychologist you are expected to contribute with highly specialized psychological knowledge and act as an academic supervisor within the team.

In addition you will handle the following tasks

• Initial assessments and diagnostic clarification
• Psychopathological assessment; including personality assessment, assessment with SCID-V, PSE, possibly EASE and possibly assessment for ADHD and autism
• Psychological testing including WAIS testing
• Supervision and training of younger psychologists in F-ACT
• Opportunity for individual therapeutic courses
• Psychoeducation
• Participation in conferences and treatment planning
• Participation in the psychology group's task solving across the center, including test-psychological examinations, debriefings, teaching and supervision of mono-disciplinary and/or multidisciplinary staff

We are looking for

You are a principal psychologist in psychiatry with an interest in work with assessment and psychological examinations of patients with complex presentations.

• Are a principal psychologist in psychiatry with solid clinical experience
• Preferably psychotherapeutic training in cognitive behavioral therapy or dialectical behavior therapy
• Preferably experience or interest in psychological testing
• Supervision and teaching experience
• Thrives working independently and in multidisciplinary collaboration
• Have an interest in contributing to a good work environment and being an active part of our work community

Salary and employment terms

The position is 37 hours per week with start 1 December 2026 or after agreement.

You will be employed in accordance with the agreement for academics employed in regions, etc.

The outpatient clinic is currently open Monday to Friday 08:00-16:00. Your working hours will therefore primarily fall within this timeframe.

About Psychiatric Center Ballerup

Psychiatric Center Ballerup (PCB) is a modern hospital with about 750 staff and main functions in acute admission, inpatient, day and outpatient treatment. PCB has specialist functions within treatment of PTSD, eating disorders, traumatized refugees, rehabilitation and deaf psychiatry. We work closely with Herlev Hospital regarding somatic complications and comorbidity, among others via expanded supervision and teaching. We have pre- and postgraduate education at all levels.

PC Ballerup has a large psychology group of about 75 psychologists across the departments. You are attached to the specialist psychology group, where across the center you have opportunities for ongoing sparring and exchange of experiences.
