About the job

UngAalborg seeks an engaged club manager to lead Gandrup/Ulsted Youth Club as of 1 December 2026.

Do you have the courage to take ownership, drive the daily operations and stand firmly on your own feet? Do you have a reflective approach to pedagogical practice and see the benefits of mutual sparring with your supervisor, your colleagues and your club staff? Then it might be you who will help create the framework for a good youth life in Gandrup/Ulsted.

At UngAalborg we believe that all young people need a safe and inspiring space for free time. As club manager you will be the key person who translates UngAalborg's visions into living practice in the local area. Together with your immediate supervisor you will be responsible for ensuring that ambitions and visions match the practice and the framework that the young people co-create.

Gandrup/Ulsted Youth Club – a free space with meaning

Youth club is the preferred meeting point for young people in the local area. Here, young people from 7th grade up to 19 years old meet for activities, conviviality, deep conversations and new communities.

The club is characterized by a high degree of involvement, where the young people themselves help create the content and traditions. We work according to UngAalborg's visions and leisure pedagogy values:

Meaningful communities: Where all young people feel belonging and safety.

Development of positive self-images: Where young people feel seen, heard and recognized for who they are.

Unleashing and developing young people's potential: Where we use the "common third" (activities, gaming, sport, creativity) to create new perspectives on life.

Participation and perspective: Where we create equal opportunities for participation and give young people courage for the future.

Your profile

Independent, reflective and with a big heart for the young

To thrive in the role you must first and foremost find joy in "being there for someone and wanting something with someone". You will become a driving force in the local area in your spare time, able to set direction and create a safe free space.

You will recognize yourself in the following

Can stand on your own two feet: You have a strong drive, work independently and naturally take responsibility for the club's daily operations, structure, framework and atmosphere. At the same time you have professional humility: You pause, reflect curiously on your own and the club's pedagogical practice and seek sparring from your supervisor and colleagues.

Strong relational skills: You see, embrace and meet all young people on their own terms – whether contact is made through gaming, sport, creativity or a deep conversation. You can be playful and funny, but you also know how to set clear, safe boundaries where the young people are never in doubt about where you stand.

Development-oriented and engaged: You are passionate about the leisure-pedagogical area and driven by ensuring that the organizational plan and pedagogical ideals are not just nice words but translated into tangible quality and living communities in the daily lives of the young.

Passionate about letting the voices of the young set the direction: You listen to the voices of the young and let their desires and ideas shape the club's life and traditions so they experience real actor involvement.

Is a good team player and local gathering force: You collaborate in a constructive way and build strong bridges to both colleagues in UngAalborg and local actors such as the school and SSP.

Your tasks

From pedagogical presence to organizational overview

Your working time is distributed between direct, hands-on work with the young people and the underlying overview:

The pedagogical life & presence: You actively participate in club evenings and on selected trips/activities. You are the steady, safe face that creates contact, initiates activities and ensures a space with room to breathe.

Local anchoring & bridging: You build and maintain a strong local network – including close collaboration with the local school, SSP and other actors in the area.

Structure and facilitation: In collaboration with your immediate supervisor and the staff, you are responsible for the preparation of the annual cycle, duty rosters, management of the local budget and coordination of the club's staff.

What we offer?

A flexible, informal and quality-conscious organization.

A high degree of freedom with responsibility to shape the club's development.

Close professional sparring and a strong network of club managers across UngAalborg.

Opportunity for personal and pedagogical development in an organization that prioritizes young people’s wellbeing above all else.
