Consultant physician sought for the Obstetric Department at Regional Hospital North Jutland, Hjørring.

Gynækologisk/Obstetrisk afdeling, Regionshospital Nordjylland, Hjørring seeks, in connection with a major generational shift, a consultant for the obstetric area with commencement on 1 March 2027 or by agreement.

Gynaecology/Obstetrics Department in Hjørring

The Department of Gynecologic Diseases, Pregnancy and Birth is administratively a unit, but clinically divided into 2 sections with their own chief physicians: Gynecology and Obstetrics, which again are divided into smaller teams. The department covers the entire northern part of Vendsyssel as its catchment area and operates at main function level. There is a day-surgery unit, as well as daily operations on the central operating corridor, and the department also performs robotic surgery.

There is a ward with 8 inpatient beds as well as a gynecological day department, here a section for pregnant women and those giving birth with 4 new labor and delivery rooms, a maternity outpatient clinic and 5 midwifery consultations.

The total activity in 2025 is approximately 25,000 outpatient visits, 2,500 operations, 3,400 hospitalizations and about 1,400 births.

The department is clinically normed with

• 8 senior physicians, of whom 2 are chief physicians and 1 UAO, as well as a research-responsible senior physician; 2 department physicians, 2 H-doctors; 3 interns and 3–6 AP doctors.
• There is round-the-clock on-call coverage at both front-on-call and back-up levels present every day of the week. For new consultants, a back-up on-call function will be attached.
