Danish teacher with homeroom duties at Fjordbakkeskolen, Skærbæk department

Our 1st grade is currently in need of a Danish teacher with a class teacher role, so if you are considering taking charge of your own “cohort” together with an exceptionally engaged and competent year-group team, perhaps this is you, 1st grade and the rest of Fjordbakkeskolen are missing.

We need you from 1 January 2027 for a permanent full-time position at our department in Skærbæk. Here we have about 235 pupils from kindergarten to 6th grade. Most go either to our after-school club (SFO) or Club in the afternoon. We employ about 30 staff on site who take pride in helping the children succeed through cross-professional collaboration.

Responsibilities

As the school year is under way, there is already a timetable you should be able to picture yourself in until the summer holidays. In addition to Danish, there are also HD, natural science technology, physical education, history and Christianity mainly in the lower school. If you in time also wish to teach mathematics, that would be a plus.

Qualifications

You must be a finished teacher with qualifications that enable you to teach Danish. You are structured and systematic, respectful in your encounters with others, able to meet deadlines and have a recognition-oriented approach to your colleagues, the school’s pupils and their parents.

You have strong relationship-building skills and master clear classroom management. You are didactically and pedagogically well grounded, and you dare to be curious about your own and your colleagues’ practice. You must be able to guide children and support a good learning environment so that students get a sense that they are succeeding. You must be able to see yourself in a child-friendly perspective that meets children and young people in the belief that they are doing their best.

About the school

Fjordbakkeskolen is a well-functioning district school located in the western part of Fredericia Municipality, consisting of the Skærbæk department with pupils from 0nd-6th grade and the Taulov department with pupils from 0nd-9th grade.

The Skærbæk department, where this position is based, is a primary school from kindergarten to 6th grade.

Fjordbakkeskolen has a total of 840 wonderful pupils and a total of 115 competent staff members. The school is in the process of “making a good school even better.” All year groups, classes and teams are part of the project. This year we have a particular focus on co-creating the core task.

There will be opportunities for flexibility in how the work is organized, but you must of course be here for joint meetings, team meetings, joint preparation and other presence-demanding tasks, etc., and we are actually a school where it is good to be. Salary and employment terms

In accordance with the applicable collective agreement between KL and the negotiating organization.

When employed by Fredericia Municipality, references will be obtained and possibly a criminal record check may be requested.

Fredericia Municipality also obtains a child safeguarding certificate for employees who, as part of their duties, regularly interact with children under 15 years of age and thereby have the opportunity for direct contact with these children.

In Fredericia Municipality, work is organized flexibly with an average annual teaching hours of 750.

This is a permanent full-time position.

Commencement January 1, 2027.
