ABOUT ME

Who am I? I would say I am very versatile and can talk to most people. More generally about me, I am the type who loves a good fantasy novel, a creative project and a good game of board games with friends. I am a 36-year-old woman with muscular dystrophy, living in Århus (Højbjerg).

As a rule I don’t say no to trying something new or meeting new people, because I stick to the mindset that says “If it doesn’t go well, I’ll just skip it another time.” I care about the environment and try to take very good care of it, but I’m far from perfect. I spend a lot of time on voluntary work, such as Cirkus Summarum and some volunteer babysitting weekends in Korsør. In addition, I go swimming, play tabletop role-playing games and otherwise spend my time with friends.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Your job will consist of; helping me up in the morning and personal hygiene (getting dressed and hair washing), food, cleaning, and otherwise there will be things like opening doors and laying ramps out so I can move around freely. I am therefore looking for a caregiver of the same gender. There may be weekend trips or similar where I stay overnight, there will be a need for extra help and you must be able to work for several days. It will often be in connection with the voluntary work I do.

What is a good helper for me?

A person who is not afraid to take action. Better to grab too hard than too gently, I will tell you if it’s too much.

A person who can be efficient when we need to get out the door or are busy. A smile and having things in common can be a bonus, but certainly not a must. It is important that you can sit and entertain yourself for long periods during the day. That means I can have peace to be myself or talk to visiting friends, without an extra person coming in and interfering. But I also hope we can sometimes have some cozy moments.

It is my hope that you will be good at helping in case of sudden illness, and be good at helping your colleagues if they wish to swap shifts internally. If you somehow have another steady job alongside, such as your own business, this would be desirable, as I hope to find someone who can be with me for many years into the future.

You, as a disabled helper, become part of a good, flexible and essential team of caregivers who together cover all shifts year-round. The job takes place in the citizen’s own home, for leisure activities, social events and the excursions the citizen would like to participate in.

• Driving license B (manual transmission)

• Start date: 31.10.2026
• Part-time: 14 hours per week
