About the job

In the Department for Citizen-Centered Health we are hiring several chief physicians/specialists who want to help build the health care system of the future.

The health reform is not only about moving tasks closer to citizens. It is about ensuring that the necessary professionalism, decisiveness and clinical quality accompany it.

This is precisely the task we are in the middle of, as we are building the Department for Citizen-Centered Health. The department was established in early 2026 and from January 1, 2027 among other things will manage 100-109 regional health and care places distributed across seven sites in Esbjerg, Bramming, Grindsted, Fanø, Vejen, Brørup and Varde.

At the same time, the Department for Citizen-Centered Health is responsible for functions such as outpatient regional acute nursing care, collaboration with general practice and the authority for patient-oriented prevention. In the near future we will work in five health houses and build more treatment teams.

We will become a department with about 180-200 employees from different professional groups and are in the process of building a new and strong professional environment. You will have the opportunity to be with us from the start and develop new ways to create coherent and citizen-centered health services – with high professional quality and the citizen at the center. We work with great motivation, while being curious and humble about the experiences and perspectives that our colleagues from general practice and municipalities contribute with.

Your tasks

As a doctor you will be part of a strong multidisciplinary team. Your tasks will include

  • Medical assessments, treatment and follow-up on health and care placements distributed across seven sites
  • Work in the future health houses
  • Advice and sparring with the visiting acute nursing service
  • Collaboration with the Visitations Centre on admission and coordination
  • Contribute to integrated patient and citizen pathways across hospital, municipality and general practice
  • Education and supervision of colleagues and partners
  • Contribute to quality development, innovation and new working procedures

Who are you?

You are a trained specialist and are motivated to further develop the health system. You thrive with autonomous clinical decisions, multidisciplinary collaboration and complex patient pathways. You have good communication skills and a desire to teach and advise.

Your specialty is less important than your professional curiosity. You could be a specialist in internal medicine, geriatrics, general medicine, emergency medicine or another relevant specialty.

You are proper, collaborative and engaged. You take responsibility for your tasks and actively contribute to a strong professional and collegial environment.

You must have a driver's license, as the work takes place at several different locations.

We offer

  • Good opportunities for professional development, research and quality development
  • A strong multidisciplinary working environment
  • High professionalism, independence and responsibility
  • Opportunity to help create new roles and working methods
  • Opportunity for part-time positions in collaboration with other departments

The working hours are generally Monday-Friday 08:00-15:24. In addition you will participate in weekend and holiday on-call shifts 08:00-15:24 according to the applicable duty schedule.
