About the job

Do you have an eye for political processes and a desire to create coherence between strategy and operations? Then you may be the development consultant we are looking for for the Senior-, Health and Psychiatry area in Skive Municipality.

As a development consultant you will have a central and cross-cutting role close to management. You will be a sparring partner for the Head of Care and Welfare and the Head of Health and Psychiatry and work with development tasks across the two areas.

You must support political servicing and drive development tasks from idea to implementation. It requires that you can create an overview, coherence and momentum when reforms, political agendas and operational considerations meet.

The areas are facing significant changes as a result of more elderly people, more citizens with complex needs and growing recruitment challenges. It calls for new solutions and a steady eye for the link between development and day-to-day operations.

You will become part of a professionally strong team characterized by engagement, political attention and high spirits. Everyday life is changeable, and the pace is sometimes high. Therefore it is essential that you can handle changing tasks and short deadlines without losing structure, quality and direction.

Your tasks

You will have a broad task portfolio and must be able to move safely between development, political processes and operational secretariat tasks.

Your tasks may include

  • drive strategic and cross-cutting development tasks from analysis to implementation
  • support political processes and prepare agendas, case material and decision briefs
  • conduct analyses and translate results into concrete recommendations and solutions
  • plan and facilitate working groups, meetings and cross-cutting processes
  • prepare minutes and handle other secretariat tasks.

You will have a high degree of independence in task solving and will be an important collaboration partner for both leadership and colleagues across the organization.

We are looking for you who…

We are looking for a development consultant with high professionalism, good collaboration skills and strong relational competences.

We imagine that you

  • have an understanding of working in a politically governed organization and can navigate between political, professional and operational considerations
  • have strong analytical abilities and can translate complex issues into clear decision proposals
  • communicate confidently, precisely and recipient-oriented – both orally and in writing
  • work independently, proactively and structured, take responsibility for progress in projects, working groups and assignments and follow tasks through to completion
  • thrive with changing priorities and can maintain overview and quality, even when deadlines are short
  • preferably have experience with development or consultancy tasks in a public or politically governed organization
  • have a relevant advanced education, for example in the social sciences.

We can offer

  • a self-contained and varied job with skilled and engaged colleagues
  • a central role with the possibility to influence development in two areas in change
  • professionally challenging tasks and close collaboration with management
  • insight into strategic, political and operational agendas
  • an informal workplace culture, high spirits and short paths to both decision-makers and citizens
  • a good working environment and, among other things, an attractive health scheme.

Your workplace

The position is placed in the Leadership Secretariat of the Social and Labour Market Administration, where there are 25 employees distributed among development consultants, financial consultants and Secretariat staff. The Secretariat Chief has personnel responsibility, while you solve tasks for the Head of Care and Welfare and the Health and Psychiatry Chief in close cooperation with the entire consultancy team.

As a development consultant you will be a central actor in planning, development and governance in both the Senior area and the area of Health and Psychiatry in Skive Municipality.

Terms of employment

  • The position is a permanent full-time position (37 hours per week) and to be filled as soon as possible.
  • Salary and terms of employment are determined according to the relevant collective agreement for the chosen candidate’s educational background, as well as the Ny Løn principles.
  • The workplace is the town hall, Torvegade 10, 7800 Skive.
