About the job

About the job

Are you passionate about play and do you see opportunities in children’s communities? Then it might be you who should be part of Højvangskolen’s SFO. At Højvangskolens SFO we have several positions – both permanent and temporary contracts with start as soon as possible.

If you are driven by the interplay with children who need safe surroundings and a playful approach to school and SFO life, then Højvangskolens SFO might be the right place for you.

We are looking for trained pedagogues and pedagogical assistants who can see opportunities in children’s communities. You are open, approachable and trust-inspiring in your meetings with pupils, parents and colleagues. You are a initiator and good at involving yourself in focus areas and team collaboration.

We are looking for pedagogues and assistants who are curious about the children’s everyday life in the leisure part and who dare to follow their lead. Someone who wants to help further develop child life in the SFO and who has the children’s involvement in view. We emphasize that many of our activities take place in the wonderful outdoor areas we have available.

One of your foremost tasks is to contribute to the children’s well-being and learning. In the classroom, in the year group and in the SFO. You will be attached to a year group team as well as a class team around a single class, where you help support the class’s development 10 lessons per week.

You work professionally and ambitiously, and you are good at communicating. You are an important piece both during school hours and in the SFO. We would very much like to hear more about this.

Your profile

  • You know that children as well as adults grow with responsibility and positive expectations and can see opportunities in helping children thrive and develop
  • You are a trained pedagogue
  • You can see yourself in a daily life at a school and in a leisure part, where the child’s whole day is central
  • You have a creative approach to the core task, and you are good at seeking and finding inspiration in and outside the school
  • You have a playful approach in children’s communities
  • You participate in the development of our leisure part
  • You engage in the work of giving and receiving pedagogical and professional sparring - both inside and outside the classroom
  • You thrive with close team collaboration with the rest of the class team and the year group
  • You want collegial cooperation across subject groups
  • You are a good colleague

Why you should choose us

You will become part of a committed and developing collaboration and community, where we must create the framework for experiences, immersion and creativity, so that the pupils gain confidence that they can do it themselves. That they get an experience of being able to master the tasks they face. The school and the SFO are where they practice being able to navigate in a democratic society. We continually create small practice arenas where they naturally fail and where they receive plenty of successes.

We have a positive, engaged and ambitious staff with a good collegial spirit and strong camaraderie. We are organized in a team structure around classes and year groups and have a tradition of cross-disciplinary collaboration on teaching, the leisure part and events at the school.

Salary and terms of employment

Salary and terms of employment will be in accordance with the applicable collective agreement. Final salary setting occurs after negotiations with the authorized trade union based on qualifications, unless the position is covered by a pre-agreement that can form the basis for salary determination

There will be a request for a child and criminal background check and employment is conditional on the attestations not showing that you are unsuitable/unfit for the position. You can read more here about how we handle your information here .

About us

Højvangskolen is located in Stavtrup, a well-functioning and expanding local area in the southern part of Aarhus. The school is growing and currently has a little over 800 students, 380 children in the SFO and about 90 staff members. The school receives multilingual pupils from other school districts and has 12% multilingual students. We have an engaged parent community and good cooperation with local institutions and associations, as well as volunteer school ambassadors and uncles.

We are a school that finds great meaning and coherence in the Folkeskole’s purpose clause. We believe that:

§ 1. The Folkeskole, in cooperation with the parents, shall provide pupils with knowledge and skills that: prepare them for further education and give them a desire to learn more, familiarize them with Danish culture and history, give them understanding of other countries and cultures, contribute to their understanding of humans’ interaction with nature, and promote the individual pupil’s versatile development.

Stk. 2. The Folkeskole shall develop working methods and create frameworks for experience, immersion and enterprise, so that pupils develop insight and imagination and gain confidence in their own possibilities and grounds for making decisions and acting.

Stk. 3. The Folkeskole shall prepare pupils for participation, co-responsibility, rights and duties in a society with freedom and democracy. The school’s activities shall thus be characterized by freedom of thought, equality and democracy.
