Næstved's coziest residential facility for young people is seeking educators with commitment and professional curiosity

At Kollegiet in Næstved we are looking for two youth workers who want to work closely with young adults aged 18-35 who, for a period in their lives, need support to create direction, development and greater independence. The residents may have various psychiatric and social challenges.

We are looking for two colleagues who thrive in relational work, meet people with curiosity and respect, and are motivated by seeing small and large improvements in everyday life.

Kollegiet is a temporary residential facility under the Danish Social Services Act § 107 with room for 10 young people with mental vulnerability. Here, the community is an important part of daily life, and we work closely with the young people to develop their social skills, strengthen their independence and create belief in their own possibilities.

Common for the young people is that they need social-pedagogical support at a period of their life. The young people are part of a community at Kollegiet, where together with the other young people and the staff they practise social interactions and what it means to live on their own. It is the staff's role to guide and advise the young people in that process.

Our daily life includes, among other things, supporting the young people to get to education, internships, medical appointments, etc., and to support them so they can independently handle the practical tasks in their apartment. In addition, there are social activities where the young people can cook together, play games, watch movies, etc.

At Kollegiet we work from the principles: a high degree of ethics, curiosity, commitment and professionalism. The resident is at the center and we work from the motto: Nothing about the young person without the young person.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who

• is a trained pedagogue
• has experience working with young people over 18 who may have psychiatric and social challenges
• has experience in taking on the role of a contact person and experience in interdisciplinary collaboration – both internally and with external actors
• works in a recovery-oriented way or wants to develop your competencies in the area
• can create calm and maintain an overview, even in acute situations
• has experience with pedagogical documentation
• can contribute and take shared responsibility for a developing work environment
• participates in competence development

What about the working hours?

Kollegiet is staffed 24/7 year-round and you must be able to work every third weekend. Expect alternating shifts in the time frames 7-15, 8-18, 14.30-22.30. On weekends, working hours are 7.30-18.30 and 12.30-22.30.
