Dr. Alexandrine's Kindergarten is looking for an engaged educator for an exciting job where independence and the freedom to adapt our daily life to the children's needs and our pedagogical vision are at the forefront. We are looking for the right educator for a permanent position in a room with high professionalism, sparring, laughter and job satisfaction.

A bit about us

We are a medium-sized kindergarten that is part of Dagtilbuddet Børnebåndet, which in addition to us also consists of a further 3 departments. Dr. Alexandrine is licensed for 60 children distributed across 3 rooms. In Dr. Alexandrine we have 8 educators, 1 pedagogical student and 3 capable assistants—and we hope to find a 9th educator 😊

A self-governing day care with unique opportunities

Dagtilbuddet Børnebåndet is a self-governing day care. This means that we have an operating agreement with the City of Aarhus, but we enjoy a special degree of independence and freedom to tailor our daily life to the children’s needs and our pedagogical vision. This allows us to be innovative and creative in our work and to create a day care that is adapted to the children's needs and interests.

Everyday life at Dr. Alexandrine

Our everyday life mainly consists of planned pedagogical activities, where we work with the children's well-being, development, learning and formation. At the same time, we prioritize that children can play, be spontaneous and have influence on what happens. We place great emphasis on each child feeling part of the community.

Børnebåndet and Dr. Alexandrine as the workplace

In Børnebåndet there is a short line from employees to management; this applies to the pedagogical leaders, the day care director and the Day Care Board, which is the top management of our day care. The pedagogical leader is responsible for personnel management and administrative tasks but is also to a very high degree part of the pedagogical daily life on the floor and in the work with the children.

Collaboration across departments and with parents

We value collaboration within and across departments highly, as we believe a shared culture and stance provides an invaluable synergy. For example, we visit each other’s kindergartens, go on excursions together and have a joint campfire day in Riisskoven.

In addition to collaboration within Børnebåndet, we also focus on cooperation between the kindergarten and the parents. It is important to us that together we create the best development opportunities for the children, among other things by us and the parents being role models in daily life.

Who are you?

You see yourself as an important player in everyday work, and you are academically strong, proactive and want to contribute to the development of learning environments in both the department and the day care overall. You can contribute to the development of pedagogical curricula and can write action plans, recommendations and development descriptions.

In your approach to pedagogical work you are present, acknowledging and inclusive in your meeting with the child.

It is important that you are interested in continuously developing yourself, as we place a high priority on this. This can be through further education, specialization in an area or the possibility to take on different roles.

Salary according to the applicable collective agreement. Working hours will generally be between 6:30 and 17:00 on weekdays.

Dr. Alexandrine is part of the self-governing Dagtilbud Børnebåndet, which besides us also consists of Frk. Ellen Gades Kindergarten, Børnehaven Lauge Koch and Skt. Johannes Parish Kindergarten. In a self-governing day care there is a short distance between the day care board, management and staff, which means that we are able to act quickly on ideas and proposals brought forward. In recent years we have consistently ranked highly in employee satisfaction surveys.
