About the job

We are seeking an engineer or a candidate with a corresponding technical background who will help procure and implement the mobile systems that shall protect Danish forces and critical infrastructure against drones. You contribute with technical insight, market overview and execution power when the Defence's mobile drone defense moves from plan to reality.

About us

Kapacitetscenter Luftværn is part of the Air Defence Business Area in the Danish Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organization (DALO).

We are nine employees in two teams who acquire, implement and operate the Army's air defence and the Defence's mobile drone defense. You will become part of the mobile drone defense team, where the pace is high.

The team is introducing a number of new systems for countering drones, and there are considerably more on the way than expected. This is where you come in.

About the position

As part of the team you will be centrally placed in the work of implementing new capabilities in the Defence – from market analysis and requirements to testing, adoption and operation. It could for example be laser weapons, mobile interceptor drone systems or vehicle-based cannon systems.

You will have a varied role with close collaboration across the Defence, industry and international partners.

Your main tasks will be to

  • Conduct market analysis and technical assessment of solutions within mobile drone countering
  • Prepare technical requirements and ensure they are met in dialogue with suppliers and users
  • Contribute to testing, evaluation and integration of new systems into the Defence's existing structures
  • Implement the new capabilities with the users and support operation, maintenance and ongoing updates in close cooperation with the section's operations and implementation specialist

The position entails 20–30 days of travel annually to partners, suppliers and test facilities domestically and abroad. You will participate in technical meetings, demonstrations, tests and launches with new systems.

You will also receive the necessary courses and competence development programs so that you can effectively perform your responsibilities in the role.

About you

You are an engineer by training or have equivalent technical background and a professional curiosity for defence technology. Experience in drones, drone defense, command and control systems, sensors, radar, laser or electro-optics and kinetic or non-kinetic effectors will be a plus.

You thrive with responsibility, collaboration and an informal tone. You can dive into technical details and see the strategic perspective in building a new defence capability.

We emphasise that you are

  • Structured – you think in systems and can create overview
  • Collaborative and proactive – you bring energy to the team and seek solutions
  • Goal-oriented – you complete tasks with determination and ensure they are finished
  • Good at communicating – you can convey complex material clearly in both Danish and English

You will become part of a specialized professional environment with high commitment, technical depth and a strong collegial fellowship.

We offer a workday with both strategic and technical tasks, where from day one you will work with technology that is currently changing how war is fought.

Employment terms

The employment is governed by the current collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and a number of academic organizations for academics in the state (Academic Agreement).

Depending on your qualifications and competences, there is a possibility for negotiation of supplements. There is an employer-financed pension scheme tied to the position.

The workplace is in Ballerup

As an employee within the Defence Ministry's area you are subject to some special terms. You must, among other things, be able to obtain and maintain security clearance during the entire employment.

You as an employee have a duty to perform service outside the country, including at units in international operations with a view to participating in conflict prevention, peacekeeping, peacemaking, humanitarian and other similar operations.
